At the risk of sounding judgemental (which I'm not trying to do), what's the rush to get her on foods already?

Im not trying to rush her at all. If she is perfectly content on formula.. then that is what I will stay with. I was just being told that I could start cereal w/ formula now because she was holding her head up well and that I could start stage 1 baby foods at 2 mths- for the same reason and also because she was doing chomping motions....but- now, I after paging the other dr in the practice- I am not going to do that. The other dr in the practice said that at most to wait till the end of her 3rd mth to try cereal again- and then introduce baby food a couple weeks after that. I asked him why the other dr told me it was ok- and he said that sometimes depending on how well the baby is growning and such that he will let the parents know they can start to try stuff.

At any rate- I thank you all for your advice- and I will apply it when the time comes later. Thanks again.

Another thing I was told was that I was to feed her every 2 hrs on the dot. Although- to me- that seems a bit much considering she doesnt WANT it every 2 hrs. So, I just feed her when she is hungry. I have never done the 2 hr rule that was told to me- and she is doing just fine.

Talk to me about it in 3 years or so.
I hope you would talk to Jesse before you talk to me.
I would not be able to afford the child support.

Sum, I really wouldn't worry about the age of solids - you'll be able to tell if she can handle it or not.

And I fed on demand, too - that scheduled feeding is for the birds and if you don't have to, don't do it. Just let them eat when they're hungry.

Yeah, I agree with Vrai. You will know when your baby is ready for solid food.

I never fed on demand because my baby had never cried when he was hungry, wet, or just want attention. I had to go by the schedule.

When my son was born, the hospital told me to feed him every two hours and I was like "Every two hours????" I had to set my alarm clock every 2 hours at first and afterwhile, I increased it to every 3 hours. The reason why I set the alarm clock was because I can't hear (I'm deaf). Also, I found out that my baby monitor that is made for the deaf parents to use doesn't really excatly work because my son doesn't make enough noise or loud enough for it to go off. I went to the store and bought the Fisher-Price baby monitor that have vibration mode on it. I used it and it works GREAT! :yay: I put the monitor under the pillow for me to "feel" the vibration when my son is awake.

The baby monitor for the deaf parents to use works great as my son got older because he have a GREAT set of lungs! :faint:

The baby monitor for the deaf to use are a "Strobe", so every time my son used his set of lungs, it goes off like we are in the haunted house or at the dance club where the strobe kept going on and off for few minutes. Every steps I made in the house, it looked like I am going through slow-motion at nights! :lmao:

Now, when my son was 15 months old, he discovered the "monitor" and he made the noise on purpose to get it goes off, which drove me crazy! I had to unplugged it to get him to stop doing that! :killingme

Seems young to me, too, but I guess all doctors are different. I did cereal at 4 mos. for both kids, and then slowly started on veggies after that. We got through all the veggies, and then moved onto fruits.

Same here. I didn't even think about giving solid food until after 4 months and then it was just a small amount of the baby cereal.
