when I was 17 or 18, I worked at a CITGO gas station. As soon as Harden & Weaver, (a morning show on AM-630) mentioned snow, I knew we'd be changing tires all night. Usually dry rotted Montgomery Wards old tires that hadnt been on the road since 1967..... LOL

happy to be living
Today was a great day! Lots of nice people and I love working there! And there "is" heat upstairs that takes the chill off but in an old uninsulated building (an old saw mill), it's not necessarily warm! But I was comfortable all day.

Vrai, have I ever told you how much I enjoy the IGNORE feature?! I don't have to see the stupid $hit spewed by fidiots!

It was never a saw mill. It was a lumber storage building. Formally known as Truman Lumber. But then they ran that business into the ground.

Glad for the new gear I got for Norway a couple years back. Thick wool socks, LL Bean boots and parka, and a very nice Carhart ear covering cap with a drop down balaclava face covering. Toasty while walking the four dogs one by one.... :)

Wife wont let me take the bike to the office though. Says I need to run her toy car to keep the battery up.... :)

She does not want you to wear yourself out doing all the peddling wearing all that warm clothing riding your bike.

She worries about traction in the cold. Which is odd, since the motorcycles tires are better suited for the cold than the high performance tires on her sports car.

I ran into a guy probably 15 years ago in the parking structure of the IPT building who was riding his motorcycle in the dead of winter. He said they only had one vehicle and that he left it at home in case his wife needed it.

I drove the little roller skate that didn't do well with snow and left the Tahoe at home in case my wife needed it.

Wonder if he got as much appreciation as I did - which is to say none at all.

I would do that for my wife. But I do it solely because I love to ride so much that as long as I'm comfortable, I'm gonna ride. I'm actually more comfortable in the winter, since I cant ride naked and stay cool in the summer.
