He can probably talk any way he wants to - this is a public forum and freedom of speech is the order of the day. If he read any of the other threads, he certainly knew he'd take flack for his comment so there you go - let the discussion begin!

I just want to say to everyone who is in favor of banning Pit Bulls that all of you are way out of touch with reality. I have bred literally hundreds of Pitbulls and I can proudly say that not one of those dogs to date has ever harmed anyone.

Pitbulls are extremely powerful dogs no doubt. In my opinion they are the absolutely the most powerful dog in the world. With that being said, Pit Bulls unfortunately attract a lot of "riff-raff." Many people want to have a "bad a$$" dog to boost their status with other thugs of their kind. What better dog than a powerful Pit Bull for these thugs. It is the perfect combination to create a monster. Thug + Powerful dog = Accident waiting to happen. It is that simple. The dogs are not born with some crazy glitch in their brains that just make them snap. In some freak instances this may be the case with any dog, just as in people as well.

Another thing is that Pit Bulls do not even make good protection dogs. They are actually very hard to train to bite. That is a fact. The intention of the breed was originally for "dog fighting," not human protection. Dobies, Shepherds, and Rotties are far more likely to bite a person than a pitbull. It is what they were bred for. When dog fighting was a gentle men's sport back in the day, man biters in the pit were put out of their misery. Years of this has bred out any man biters. This is all very true.... don't take my word for it, do the research yourself.

Pit Bulls are very much people dogs and everyone has a major misconseption about this breed. The dogs are not crazy, they are not stupid, they are not time bombs or whatever that some people think. You really can not knock the breed until you have had the experience raising one.

Lighten up people, do more research. The media is not research material for any subject.

My dogs have never been in any accidents involving people. I really mean that, however, the dog was bred for dog fighting so many of the dogs today still possess the "dog fighting" trait and are not recomended for house holds with other dogs, particularly of the same sex.

One other point that may be related to some of the human attacks is the fact that these dogs are used in the South for hog hunting. Many of these dogs are left on a chain and have virtually no social life with other humans besides the owners who feed the dogs. A hog makes a horrible screeching sound much like a child playing in the yard. It is obvious as to what is going to happen provided one of these hog dogs get lose. They will hear that noise that is familiar to them when catching a hog. The child is now a victim of a Pit Bull attack.

It is all about common sense. Thugs have no reason to own these dogs and it is up to breeders like myself to carefully select potential owners of the breed.

Punish the Deed not the breed.

Ugh. The topic of banning pitbulls makes me so mad....if you ban pits (which, by the way, the breed ban does NOT only ban pitbulls, it bans bulldogs, nothing like pit bulls, bull terriers, staffy's, and anything that is of bull breed type.), then what's next? People who want to ban pits are stupid, narrow minded, and ignorant.
I have the sweetest CKC pitbull that I raised from a puppy. His mother was an absolute terror, but that's because of how she was RAISED. It has NOTHING to do with the breed itself.
Why don't people try to actually KNOW about something before they make an opinion??? Half of the people on here who want to ban them are just old, ignorant farts..who have never owned a pitbull, or have even had an actual ATTACK by a purebred, or atleast partial bred, pitbull. You just want to talk alot of BS about something you know nothing about!!! :burning: Obviously, I wouldn't own a pit if they were "aggressive"..since I own a gazzillion types of livestock...hrmmm. Yes, there are ALOT of nasty, vicous pits around here, along with dobys, but it's all a result of the owner. I've seen worse acting GSD's, and Labs. I also think it's ridiculous that they automatically put pits to sleep, with no chance of being adopted out. It's sickening...that people really are that dense. But yet I see ALOT of nasty temperamented dogs in the shelter and HS....makes you wonder.
