ours didn't build it again, they moved on. i didn't think you were allowed to kill them?Ken King said:If you just destroy the dam/lodge the beaver will just build it back. Either waste them or live trap and relocate them.
Apparently you can, the season is Jan 1 to Mar 15 with no daily bag or possession limit. See here http://www.dnr.state.md.us/huntersguide/fbchart.asphappyappygirl said:ours didn't build it again, they moved on. i didn't think you were allowed to kill them?

Heard they're about the same as ground hog, a little on the greasy side, but if you know how to cook'em they turn out good.happyappygirl said:EWWWWWWWWWW EAT them?
prolly taste like mud.
Never said or implied that you could, I wouldn't tell on you if you did. But using a snare, smooth foothold, and/or body-gripping traps can all be used in season (at least in St. Mary's).girliegirl said:I thought you could trap them during that time frame and kill them for meat, release them somewhere else or something about their fur as well, however you just cannot go down to say my pond and shoot them?
girliegirl said::shrug: Walked down to the pond last night to look at the new damage just from that day, and the beavers were swimmming back and fourth flapping their tales like they were trying to scare me...It was unlike anything I have ever seen...
I am here, still pondering the whole beaver thing...Kain99 said:I am so happy that the beaver tread is still alive!
Where's girlie.... I need to give her some good karma lovin!
on the dam what?Magnum said:Don't get too close, I had one smack my foot with it's tail when I was walking on the dam

Well let me tell you that these beavers that have adopted my pond are scared of nothing..The 4-wheelers do not bother them, the gator does not bother them, nothing. The more we disturb them, the more they flap their tales, and then at night they get their revenge by destroying even more trees. I am telling you, I have never, ever seen anything like this...It's like living in some wild life documentary gone wrong....Magnum said:Well they got used to use for a while, every now and then they didn't like us walking on their dams. When we started riding 4-wheelers across them the beavers seemed to get scared off, didn't bother us anymore.
