Could be migraines, but I'd also request a spinal tap to rule out meningitis.

I'm not to crazy about the spinal tap being done, I had one done last year and the test itself was fine. The recovery was awful, ended up with spinal fluid leaking out and talk about a hurting head. I couldn't walk for almost a week.....Good ole St. Mary's Hospital

Usually, but not necessarily.

:yeahthat: I went thru this with a 16 year old friend of mine's son. They were out of town. Kid had a horrific headache, etc. NO fever. Ended up in Childrens for two weeks with encephilitis or meningitis. I can't remember which it was, but he was very ill. St. Mary's Hospital wanted to send him home. Nine hours later, they finally flew him to Children's.

I'd be packing him off to the emergency room asap, but that's just me.

Yeah I think me too. This is one of those things where it could be anything from just feeling bad & needing rest to meningitis. I would at least try to get him an appt with his doctor today.

Call your pediatricians office back and tell them he's still in extreme pain and it's urgent you speak to his doctor... the more persistent you are the higher you should make their "triage" list.

I've had 2 at St. Mary's over the years and was fine. Guess it just depends on the person.

Nobody wants to think of their child having to have a spinal tap. But if its the difference between that or my child maybe dying.. well it goes without saying.

Whatever it is, if he's in that much pain.. get him to the ER!

The doctor hadn't gotten there yet when I called. There was an accident in Leonardtown and he was tied up in that.

I agree with taking him to the hospital. When my son was 2 weeks old he had a temp. of 105. I called his doctor and he said it was ok. It happens sometimes give him Tylenol. Hello he was 2 weeks old. We took him to the er. You couldn't give touch him he was that hot. He had a UTI. I staid in the hospital with him for a week. That doctor no longer practices anymore. You can never be to carefully with kids. Make sure you get the doctors to do everything possible. Even if they say well we don't think it could be this. It would be a a slight chance for this or that. I wish him well!

I remember watching Dr. Phil once and he said something that I still remember to this day. If you are worred have your kid seen. Even if nothing is wrong at least you will leave having piece of mind. **It was something like that**
