And you. I wish you a Merry Christmas. On the contrary. You basically said you belive because you believe. I hear this line of reasoning constantly from talking with other theists, hence my comment about things never changing
It's been good talking with you sir, have a great holiday!
Certainly machines reproduce. It's called automation. One machine makes another. Now, a baby frog (tadpole) looks and acts nothing like the parent, so a car coming off the assembly line doesn't look like the assembly machine. But, it can virtually all be done mechanically. And, fires adapt. Rob one of some oxygen, and it will get hotter to burn different things. And, I've seen a car commercial that says the windshield wipers recognize the rain and then dry the brakes. Sounds like adaptation to me.
Again, that tangent was just an old science teacher's trick to get middle school kids to think about life.you really worked hard at ignoring the important parts of that definition.
noun 1. the condition that distinguishes organisms from inorganic objects and dead organisms, being manifested by growth through metabolism, reproduction, and the power of adaptation to environment through changes originating internally.
not to mention to be living you must display all of the traits, not just one.
