The moratorium has expired and BGE is beginning the massive task of turning off the lights on 75,000 customers who the utility says they were unable to contact to offer a payment plan.
The utility will be undertaking this in the next few weeks. However, there is still help available for those that are behind.
This really is a band aid. The rate increases have outpaced any semblance of inflation and just keeping your lights on is a struggle for many.
