BGE Turning Off 75,000

The moratorium has expired and BGE is beginning the massive task of turning off the lights on 75,000 customers who the utility says they were unable to contact to offer a payment plan.

The utility will be undertaking this in the next few weeks. However, there is still help available for those that are behind.

This really is a band aid. The rate increases have outpaced any semblance of inflation and just keeping your lights on is a struggle for many.

:yeahthat:

Turn off the TV, turn off lights, close the window when the AC is on, turn off the computer when not in use, turn off the hot tub, etc. and they will be able to afford their electric bill. My grandparents in Alabama had A/C in their house. Only time it got turned on was when they were expecting company. If 2 old people in Alabama survive the heat by opening windows and using fans, then so can a family in Baltimore.

We bought all new ceiling fans in every room. Made a huge difference. Our family room had a 52' in in. We put a 60' in it and i can feel it in the kitchen when it is on. I don't want the a/c running unless it really has to. With the fans on in only the rooms we are in it will cut the cost.

I love Texas Road House
If they don't pay their bill they shouldn't have electric. If I ran the electric company once you were two months past due you get cut off. No exeptions.

The rate increases have outpaced any semblance of inflation because Maryland's idiotic government kept them capped for 10 years.
