Money isn’t an issue, is it? We have no one left to work, we need bodies. I showed you the stats, no one is claiming unemployment, everyone who wants to work has a job.
Cancel “foreign billions” all you want, that doesn’t create workers.
I work 40+ hours weekly, have done it since I was 16, there is pride in work, it’s good for the country, the economy, and our human worth.
lots of folks in this forum have thrown in the towel, next time you see a help wanted sign and you have an option, look in the mirror, if you’re not putting in 40+ hours a week, f* off
Sneakers, Vrai….you working 40+ hours Grumpy? If so, the American economy thanks youName em..TIA

I’m sick and tired of the endless complaining here, I mention Vrai because she put in a post that she quit working at Publix. That’s useful and hardwork, I get the allure of quitting. I’m not sure what the 50+ hours you’re taking about referees to.Funny stuff...Sneakers is retired (and you probably know that)..Vrai probably averages 50 hrs a week yearly...Me? 50+ weekly since this effing Covid came about. And if anyone reading this wonders where the ‘age 72’ figure is coming from, it’s the most recent adjustment to the Required Minimum Distribution Age.I’m sick and tired of the endless complaining here, I mention Vrai because she put in a post that she quit working at Publix. This country needs hard labor: builders, machinists, welders, real retail. We have more than enough service sector: project managers, risk auditors, Java programmers.
look, most of you folks will be long dead and gone by the time the Chinese take us over, but I’m not going down without a fight. Living off your assets and stopping work before 72 is immoral in this day and age, it’s excess. Your ancestors would would be appalled, think of what they endured, you have no idea the fat bed you lie on.
the bill is coming due, are you paying it? ….But who really cares, right?
I’m paying it, I’m working until I give out.
unless we start cutting those benefits.Benefits?? Are you referring to the money the government took out of every single check we slaved for, our nest egg should we become in need of "OUR OWN MONEY".Just gotta make one last point about all this handwringing about “no one wanting to work”
since 2020 we lost nearly 750k people to COVID, 100k to opioid deaths, and we have 1mil fewer immigrants over the last several years due to much tighter restrictions on coming to the US. This has lead to population growth being the lowest in 80 years for 2020.
do you folks know anyone that can’t get a job? The ones out collecting social security for old age or disability aren’t ever going to work again, unless we start cutting those benefits. All the extra unemployment benefits disappeared months ago, meanwhile Amazon has hired over a million people with a starting wage of $20 and benefits! Get used to cruddy jobs not being filled, if you wouldn’t take it why do you think someone else will?
The only way those jobs get filled is if we open up the boarders, and we all know that ain’t happening.
Drug overdose deaths hit record high
More than 100,000 Americans died from drug overdoses between May 2020 and April 2021—the most ever recorded in a single year.www.hsph.harvard.edu

This is bait, I’m acknowledging it
That was a side hustle, you dolt.
I haven't had a full day off work in almost 26 years. 40 hours a week?
The problem with you progs is that you spew nonsense and have no idea what you're talking about.

In 26 years you’ve never had a day off? What constitutes a day, being on here? Checking email? Working 8 hours at a cash register? All the same?
... no one is claiming unemployment, everyone who wants to work has a job.
72 huh? Thought it would be higher what with all the inflation, aka reckless expansion of the money supply. I'm guessing that you do not see the theft of purchasing power debasing the dollar further necessitating the forced continuation of people having to work just to survive seeing as their wages never ever keeps up with inflation and always lags far behind. Unlike in the past, when we had a sound monetary system where a dollar saved, was still worth, and had the same purchasing power 50 years later allowing responsible people that saved, to live their remaining days in relative financial security. And if anyone reading this wonders where the ‘age 72’ figure is coming from, it’s the most recent adjustment to the Required Minimum Distribution Age.
I’m curious, what is your investment approach?I'd love to have every penny of that money back and forget getting SS when I'm of age. I can invest it WAY better than the government and get a much better return, even at this late date.
