This is more disturbing on a few levels.
I can think of only two ways to interpret his reaction:
1. He knows the story is different, and is arguing otherwise - ergo, lying, but hoping the listeners will agree with him anyway. You can very often get your fans to think your lips speak only the truth if when caught in a lie, you do your best to insult or question the credibility of your opponent - rather than handle it with cold hard facts.
NO COPS died that day. That is a fact.
or
2. He honest to God doesn't know. There are some subjects which die-hard conservatives aren't brain-washed but have actually done the deep dives it takes to learn things he says - right there - he doesn't know. Like the names of people who died - or how. Ask a gun owner facts about guns, and they will furnish details you never knew existed. Ask him about trans issues in Hollywood, and he has no idea.
A year ago I posted an article by Naomi Wolf - who became famous for being part of Al Gore's campaign - and is NO right-winger - wrote an "apology" to the right. Because until she watched Tucker Carlson's airing of suppressed Capitol footage, her knowledge of the Capitol riot was - basically - wrong.
It's a good read, but - it 100% illustrates how liberals can live in a bubble that only supports what they already think they know ---

Yes, I heard that
1. Sicknick died as a *consequence* of those events.?? Ummm - no He died of natural causes - trauma doesn't "trigger" strokes - he wasn't hit in the head with a fire extinguisher, and the NYT retracted that - he did not show signs of blunt force trauma - by his own words, he was fine except he caught a bit of pepper spray, which I believe he told to his brother.
2. Other police committed suicide - yes. Some of them - MONTHS later. Beleive it or not, other Capitol Police ALSO committed suicide in that time frame, and they were NOT there, that day. It happens. It's ridiculous to call a suicide several months after the fact - a death that occurred - THAT DAY.
3. FOUR people died ON THAT DAY. All Trump supporters. Ashli Babbitt. Two Trump supporters were at least initially decared to have died of heart attacks, and another of a drug overdose.
4. When police who were there died days later, their deaths in the liberal media are regarded as "deaths stemming from J6". When TRUMP supporters died days later, it is not regarded as trauma at the hands of - well - anyone.

"Real Time" host Bill Maher questioned whether it was wise for the liberal media to continue avoiding the growing controversies surrounding second gentleman Doug Emhoff.
"There's a lot of scuttlebutt in the news this week about Doug," Maher said in a panel discussion on Friday's "Overtime" online segment of his HBO show. "If people don't know what's going on, the Daily Mail is reporting that three women [Emhoff's ex-girlfriend] talked to contemporaneously, which has been the standard very often in these cases, that she said back in, I think, 2011 or something, they were at the Cannes Film Festival. He slapped her. He thought she was flirting with the valet."
"He knocked up the nanny, right? That's confirmed," conservative radio host Buck Sexton chimed in.
"That's confirmed. He definitely knocked up the nanny," Maher responded with a chuckle. "What I'm saying is, if this becomes more credible — and we don't know yet. I mean, a lot of the conservative outlets still aren't reporting it, so I wouldn't go after anybody for not reporting it yet because these things have to be checked out. But if it becomes more credible, certainly on the level of Brett Kavanaugh, which was that kind of thing was reported by everybody pretty quickly. Does the liberal media keep ignoring it?"
