My stupid ass neighbor 
is one of the managers at BJ's. I hate that place!!!! But yet I shop there. 
Give me a Sam's club any day!!!!! + Why is it every-time I am in BJ's their is only 2-3 lanes open and long lines. Plus what is up with not having good Samples. At least have some good sample for me when I come in there.

When I was a child the store down the street had a laquered wedding cake in the bakery and the old woman who decorated them would make me frosting roses when I came in with my mom. I always wanted to work with her when I grew up.
When I was older I went to McKays and eventually wound up in the bakery one day because I was the only one there who could draw.. When I saw all the boxes of pre-made, frozen cakes slices, I was so upset I said I'd never buy a store cake again..
I hate store icing now too.. I still buy that old Dream Whip stuff you make yourself.

just one of those days...
I made two cakes for my son's first birthday party too. I enjoyed making them and I thought that they turned out really good. I don't like the store bought cakes either.

The birthday girl was Freddy Krueger and I came dressed as the "dead of winter" and won best costume.
I have a pic of that too, but I still don't look any scarier than normal..

My kids have the bestest Mom.
Not only does she make their cake every year, she usually makes them from scratch. Always a special shape/character cake, and she breeaks out the pastry bags and does the fancy schmansy decorative icing too. Cakes always look great.
To top it all off, she even makes the big kid (me) a German Chocolate cake every year for my birthday from scratch. She even puts the icing on the side of the cake the way I like it, even though technically it's not supposed to be there. I luv me some german chocolate cake with LOTS of icing.
