I've actually seen quite a few African-American folks at the Celtic Festival each year. In kilts. In pipe and drum bands. One young bi-racial girl wins alot of Highland Dance trophies.

Haha, some of the ones you saw were probably me and my family. My mom (she's the black parent) is a hardcore reenactor, for highland Scotland and for the Scottish Rennaissance - as a hobby. And my dad, brother, and I always go in kilts and with our clan tartan. My cousin is a highland dancer.

He came from the Dailey political machine. I guess that kind of falls under the liar category though doesn't it?

Ever get a :confused: look when you say those are your clan colors?

I see alot of African American folks in the pipe and drum bands from some of the local public schools and police departments.

I've got Scottish genes on both sides. That means I'm extra pale with a twist (or maybe just twisted). Need copper wire for a home project? Drop a few odd pennies on the ground at one of my family reunions.

I distinctly remember shouting at some kids in seventh grade when I wore a "Kiss me, I'm Irish" shirt in middle school and they didn't believe me. :lmao: The funny thing is my younger brother has really red hair...but it's still kinky African-American hair. He's gonna be pretty handsome when he grows up I think. My Irish grandma is always saying she never expected her one redheaded grandchild to be from our branch of the family. Heh.

I don't go to MIR on weekends, let alone a Wed. night. I'll admit the google earth ruler contradicts me so I am going to physically measure it. That thing cannot be over 75' long!!

It is exactly that. The progressives, socialist, liberals, lefties - whatever you want to call them - are constantly thumbing their noses at the entire country daring us all to say a word about it.

Which was my point - his racist antics are implied by those he chooses to keep company with, not by his actual race.
(Btw, I'm biracial and I usually refer to myself as black. Halle Berry also refers to herself as black. I don't think it's that strange that he's referred to as black even though he's only Halfrican. See, I'd be more intrigued than laugh in your face, and I think most people would.

You say defining yourself by half of your heritage is "easier". Why is it easier to deny half than to say "bi-racial", or "mulatto", or "other" on forms or to people. Why not choose to say "white" and let people ask or assume why your skin is darker than average?
