Just got back from a conference and got to play with some of the newer features that they are doing on the blackberry's.. Damn things will do about all of it. Im not a nextel fan so Im going through verizon here in the next month to pick up the phone.. But I keep looking at those damn Pocket PC phones too. Kinda nice to have an MP3 player also so I can have music on the plane.. came in handy last week.
I've got the Dell AXIM Pocket PC, AND a cell phone.. would be handy to have them combined,, but they are real nice apart too..

:yeahthat: I wish Verizon had a CompactFlash "phone" that worked on a PDA. I also wish there was a decent camera attachment.

Crab,

Have used BB here at my company for last 2 years. Cost is approx. $500 to start up, then depending on how many people are on the network, it can range between $60 and $175 per month for service. The ain't cheap..

Anyone got one that they use as a phone as well? I'm thinking of replacing my current nextel phone, but I don't want another flip phone and don't like any of the other non-flip phones they have right now. They have the BlackBerry 7520 which has "Bluetooth Technology" (whatever the hell that is). It can be used for regular 'blackberry' things like email, web, etc., but it is also a phone and has the 'bleep bleep' function.

Curious if anyone has one, how they like it, if using the 'email' function is an additional service you pay for on top of your regular cell plan, etc.

TIA.
I'm not one to b!tch about karma because it's so childish, but I found it particularly humorous that some tard gave me red karma and called me a 'redneck' for this post.

First off, I take being called a 'redneck' as a compliment, tyvm. :diva: Secondly, stereotypically speaking and considering you left red vs green therefore intending it to be a derogatory comment, are you such an assmagnet to think a stereotypical redneck would be so technologicially inclined to be considering something along the lines of a blackberry? :dork:

Someone gave you the raspberry for your interest in the blackberry?

Fascinating.

PDA/Blackberry type phones...

If you are using it for PDA type functions...

1) They are huge and ugly IMHO... but, if that doesn't bother you...

2) Have you thought about how often the need for having a cell phone and pda is because people will call and want to make appointments, share important work information, etc... Well, if your PDA is on your phone... how are you going to enter the information, look up information, etc.. while you talk? Your conversation is going to constantly be, "Hang on, let me check... " then they wait while you look for info, enter info, etc... on a slower PDA than typical market PDAs... then answer, then say, "Hang on" again if more info is needed...
