Boy Scouts and Gay Rights Again.........

chernmax

NOT Politically Correct!!
the same reason no one forms the black scouts or the asian scouts or the muslim scouts or the jew scouts or the bigot scouts or the satanist scouts etc. etc.

Those are religions, not sexual orientation...

Boy, Girl, and everything in between...

So, like, being gay automatically gives you a membership in the pedophile club?

I'm a heterosexual man. If I was placed in the charge of a troupe of girl scouts, I honestly can't see myself using this as an avenue for "picking up chicks", on account'a I'm not a kid-touching freak.

I can't imagine that a non-pedophile homo would feel differently leading a troupe of boy scouts.

Unless they were buff 20 year old dudes in leather boy-scout uniforms.

.... what do you think? They going to somehow 'gay' up your kid? Gonna trick them into being gay themselves?
Look I have a few gay friends and if they were to try and get me to 'be gay' or whatever (note, that they would not try as it isn't some choice) they wouldn't have a chance. I can't look at a guy and get turned on. It just isn't in me. Could a gay guy get you to turn gay?
You really won't see this will you? It's not that they'll "turn them gay" it's the emotional damage done to the kids by the UNNATURAL encounter.
being gay isn't a mental disorder ....
but I guess your bigotry is a bit on the high side to see it.
It's fine .... calling yourself an upstanding christian and hating on the side is cool .... I'm sure god is fine with it.
I used an example for gun ownership. I didn't say that applied to gays but there is significant mental (emotional) "damage" that doctors found in many gays when counseling them.
the same reason no one forms the black scouts or the asian scouts or the muslim scouts or the jew scouts or the bigot scouts or the satanist scouts etc. etc.
You just can't stop comparing apples & oranges can you? Being gay is not a race issue!

Says who?
GOD
You know, the one you don't believe in.
God never criticised any animals for homosexual acts, so you too are comparing apples & oranges.
Do you eat your own poop or vomit as dogs do?
Do you lick your own...never mind. God NEVER said that we are equal to the animals, so your point is invalid, just as is anything that contradicts what He says. Our God would never destroy 2 entire city's if He thought it wasn't a serious offense. Stop defending this lifestyle folks.

What encounter?

I've known several gay people .... there was no encounter. It's just like 'he's gay'

ok

'so what?'

because they know they'll be tormented by bigots like you?

I know .... it's a discrimination issue.

So god hates gays enough to kill them, but jesus preaches tolerance, peace, and love for thy neighbor?

Boy Scout Oath and Law

On my honor . . .

By giving your word, you are promising to be guided by the ideals of the Scout Oath.

. . . I will do my best . . .

Try hard to live up to the points of the Scout Oath. Measure your achievements against your own high standards and don't be influenced by peer pressure or what other people do.

. . . To do my duty to God . . .

Your family and religious leaders teach you about God and the ways you can serve. You do your duty to God by following the wisdom of those teachings every day and by respecting and defending the rights of others to practice their own beliefs.

. . . and my country . . .

Help keep the United States a strong and fair nation by learning about our system of government and your responsibilities as a citizen and future voter.

America is made up of countless families and communities. When you work to improve your community and your home, you are serving your country. Natural resources are another important part of America's heritage worthy of your efforts to understand, protect, and use wisely. What you do can make a real difference.

. . . and to obey the Scout Law; . . .

The twelve points of the Scout Law are guidelines that can lead you toward wise choices. When you obey the Scout Law, other people will respect you for the way you live, and you will respect yourself.

. . . To help other people at all times; . . .

There are many people who need you. Your cheerful smile and helping hand will ease the burden of many who need assistance. By helping out whenever possible, you are doing your part to make this a better world.

. . . To keep myself physically strong, . . .

Take care of your body so that it will serve you well for an entire lifetime. That means eating nutritious foods, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly to build strength and endurance. it also means avoiding harmful drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and anything else that can harm your health.

. . . mentally awake, . . .

Develop your mind both in the classroom and outside of school. Be curious about everything around you, and work hard to make the most of your abilities. With an inquiring attitude and the willingness to ask questions, you can learn much about the exciting world around you and your role in it.

. . . and morally straight.

To be a person of strong character, your relationships with others should be honest and open. You should respect and defend the rights of all people. Be clean in your speech and actions, and remain faithful in your religious beliefs. The values you practice as a Scout will help you shape a life of virtue and self-reliance.

Scout Law

A Scout is Trustworthy.
A Scout tells the truth. He is honest, and he keeps his promises. People can depend on him.

A Scout is Loyal.
A Scout is true to his family, friends, Scout leaders, school, and nation.

A Scout is Helpful.
A Scout cares about other people. He willingly volunteers to help others
without expecting payment or reward.

A Scout is Friendly.
A Scout is a friend to all. He is a brother to other Scouts. He offers his friendship to people of all races and nations, and respects them even if their beliefs and customs are different from his own.

A Scout is Courteous.
A Scout is polite to everyone regardless of age or position. He knows that using good manners makes it easier for people to get along.

A Scout is Kind.
A Scout knows there is strength in being gentle. He treats others as he wants to be treated. Without good reason, he does not harm or kill any living thing.

A Scout is Obedient.
A Scout follows the rules of his family, school, and troop. He obeys the laws of his community and country. If he thinks these rules and laws are unfair, he tries to have them changed in an orderly manner rather than disobeying them.

A Scout is Cheerful.
A Scout looks for the bright side of life. He cheerfully does tasks that come his way. He tries to make others happy.

A Scout is Thrifty.
A Scout works to pay his own way and to help others. He saves for the future. He protects and conserves natural resources. He carefully uses time and property.

A Scout is Brave.
A Scout can face danger although he is afraid. He has the courage to stand for what he thinks is right even if others laugh at him or threaten him.

A Scout is Clean.
A Scout keeps his body and mind fit and clean. He chooses the company of those who live by high standards. He helps keep his home and community clean.

A Scout is Reverent.
A Scout is reverent toward God. He is faithful in his religious duties. He respects the beliefs of others.

Always listening but never hearing, always looking but never seeing. No Xaquin, God doesn't hate gays He hates some of what they do. God even said He'd spare those cities if He found 10 good people there but He only found 4 and He allowed them to leave safely. What God did is similar to our government executing people under the capital punishment laws. It's not that we hate them, we hate what they do and, in some cases it deserves death. God knew that these people (Sodom & Gomorrah) wouldn't change their ways and would never accept His laws in their lives so He did what He had every right to do. He can create & end life as He sees fit, BUT God doesn't get any thrills in taking the lives of His creation. He would rather see them wise up get saved. (Ezekiel 18 v 23 & 32). And He gives them every chance to.

12/07/2007 11:59am. Hey idiot, you think people would actually choose to be gay?? Why the heck would they do that? Think about it, you dunce.
Can you feel the love? I can't. Hey friend, if you want to be a gay advocate that's your choice, so deal with it, but the name calling only shows proof that what you say is wrong. People choose it every day! God never killed anyone in the Bible if they had an illness that they wanted to be cured of. God destroyed many lives because of their sinful, evil choices. Their choice, not born that way, OK? You "no karma signing" person.:howdy:

No sauage man, try again.
You axed me what Jesus said was the most important thing. The most important thing is the 1st commandment. Love the Lord with all your heart mind & strength and your neighbor too. Well, if you do that, more than likely you "wised up" and maybe you're saved. I know where you're going with this and it won't work. You can't say that I hate anyone because I've proven it here.

No one knows where I am going when I get started, including me.

I shouldn't really fight with you because I am ex Catholic.

:smoochy:

But I love people who happen to be gay. I am proud of them for following their hearts.

We're not fighting and I'm an ex Catholic too. I care about gay people but I detest some of their lifestyle, that's all. (People here love to see hatred in that statement though).
Following their hearts wouldn't be a problem if God hadn't said otherwise and that goes for everyone, not just them. He said many hearts are wicked so we must be careful what we do.

I disagree. Our place in world is to be good people and share positive energy with others. I don't believe you a have to be a member of a certain group that follows a book of guidelines. Be a good person. Challange yourself everyday to add love and worth to the world. God won't care what your religon is if your heart is pure. That's what I am taking out of 12 years of Catholic School.

What about the gay lifestyle do you detest?

That's what we should all do but there's more to it. You're pushing good works and ignoring salvation. Many good people won't get to heaven because they ignore God's only way to Heaven; Jesus.

I think you're over 18 so it's this: Any physical interactions that one would normally do with women. Sex, kissing, hand holding and the kinky stuff. God said: "if a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, it is detestable in His eyes". Now if they want to live together, be friends for life and leave all of their worldly stuff to each other, that's fine with me.
