It'sa just remarkable that more people weren't killed but we'll all miss Corey Lidle.

don't mean to sound cold and heartless, but there were probably a couple hundred other people killed in accidents yesterday (wasn't there a Helicopter crash in FL?) and I'm not going to cry over or miss any of them. I've never met Lidle nor have I met the other couple hundred, they have no impact on my life, just as I have had no impact on their lives, I'm sure if the roles were reversed Lidle wouldn't be crying over my demise.

Lidle was an entertainer, MAYBE I saw him throw a baseball once or twice.. big whoop. In the big scheme of things, the unknown person that died on a highway in Michigan in a car accident probably had a bigger impact on more peoples lives then he did.

:yeahthat: I'm getting tired of how much they're dramatizing the whole thing. They're trying to make it like 9-11....but it was just an accident, and they know that now. They need to shut up about it already. I can understand the worry at first, but this is just rediculous.

They were talking about the parachute on the news yesterday. They said that in all of the crashes with this plane, the parachute has not been used.

being at such a low alltitude, even if it was deployed, there wouldnt have been enough time for it to open.

I can see if you run into engine trouble at 12,000 ft and popping the chute, but not when your that close to the ground.

Hell popping the chute over New York city would have been just as dangerous. Having the plane land in the middle of a busy street, or getting the chute snagged on a building, leaving the plane dangeling there only to have the chute rip and the plane smash down onto the street below.

The city was lucky that only 4 people died in this crash. This could have been much worse

You're assuming that they were falling instead of flying. I'm interested to see what they said happened. They were right by the East River and should have ditched there. Maybe they were trying to make it there and hit the building in the process.

Well, for those of us who are New York Yankees fans, this is a tragedy. For the record, I believe most sports athletes work harder in a single week than television movie stars have worked in their lives.

Bullchit.. most of those Fat-azz "Pro-athletes" can barely run around the bases without an inhaler...

I doubt they would be working TOO hard to attain the physiques that most of them have, and on top of that, I don't remember shedding a tear for any of the Hollywood elite when they pass either.

MOST of these people have done nothing to further the casue of humanity or do anything of value other then having a great smile. There are exceptions, but most would rather show you their pimped out cribs, and their stable of exotic rides then do anything worthy of my attention or emotion.

It didn't take long for folks to blame Bush for this crash.

Many have already questioned how the Feds (under Bush's watch) could allow a plane to fly this close to Manhattan.
