Earthchild, first of all I'm curious if you're a male or female?  Second, I doubt any grandfather out there is taking nourishment from a breast - he's certainly a little old for that.  Third, and last, why the animosity toward breastfeeding?  What's the big deal?  I agree a woman shouldn't just flop the boob out there in public, but when public breastfeeding is done in a discreet fashion, why not?

I have been reading these posts for awhile but never really posted anything until now. Although I do not agree to child, I think she has a right to her opinion. Just because it does not agree with yours does not make it wrong. If you choose to breastfeed your baby what do you care what other people think? I am 59 years old and in my time these things were frowned upon. That did not make it wrong either. It is a matter of opinion. Why are you wasting time fighting ? You stated your brlifs and they stated thiers.

Hippiechick.  This was an old item that had sort of been put to rest.  If you will look at Earthchild's first post it was an attack or sure seemed like it.  It definitely had a negative "tone" to it.

We all have differing opinions and that's what makes these boards fun.

Some people have real problems!!

I wish I could get a group together and we could all go breastfed in front of these people who say they cannot stand to see it happen.

That is what they sound like they feel we are doing.  To hell with the fact that our child is hungry. NO! They act as though we plan it out.  

Get over your little problem about the breastfeeding in public.

I get sick to my stomack when I see jay people in public.
It makes me want to throw up.
That is something that is sooooo unnautural but you don't see people complaining about that.  No!! we want to protect their feelings.  They have rights.
Well!!! So do the ones who are doing good for their child and breastfeeding.  Public or private.

About the breastpump-  I can't stand one and feel that anyone who feels that they should tell someone they should use it, is just silly.

If any of you that feel that way know anything about breastfeeding ( which you should if you feel so strongly about it one way or another ) would know that most breastfed babies will not take a bottle.
So what good is the pump???
Most people who pump do not do it for long anyhow. ( and I say most not all)

I cannot believe that some of you find nothing good to do with your time but get online and talk down something that is not hurting you.  It is not lowering our society or damaging anything.  It is not only natural but good.

Sex is private, eating is not.  Get that straight.
Natural is a broad word.  Just because two things are natural does not mean they should be looked at the same way.



I go out into public and always see things I cannot stand.

People acting like the low class idiots we have leading our media and causing our kids to turn into trash that does not care about their neighbor anymore.  This country is going to sh*t
.  It was founded as one nation under GOD but now days we are lead by the devil.

Go use your time to change us for the better.  Leave the ones who are feeding their inocent, hungry babies alone.

Your arguement about uncomfort is silly when it comes to breastfeeding in public.

My question is, what else bothers you when you go in public?

You need to get a clue.  The act of breastfeeding is as natural an act as anything I can imagine, but closed minded individuals like you try to make those that chose this option feel ashamed of it.  Is it because they have decided to experience their maternal feelings and you haven’t?  Are you jealous of the fact that that little life is clutching them and suckling them as it obtains it’s sustenance and bonds closer with it’s mother..    

I have seen more women flash their breasts in bars, at race tracks and beaches then I have ever seen provide nourishment to their child via this means.  One of the very few times I became aware of it was only after a woman sitting nearby commented in discuss about what this woman was doing over at the corner of the establishment, in to me was a very discrete manner.  Of course this was as I watched her (lady complaining) gobble down a huge cheeseburger with grease and condiments dripping from her chin.  Imagine which sight offended me less.

Earthchild when you are out in public at a nice restaurant eating and all of a sudden an infant baby starts screaming and crying and the mother proceed's to breastfeed the baby because it is hungry which would you rather see or hear?  A screaming baby or a quiet baby breastfeeding?

You know either way the mother is going to be talked about.  

Oh my god can't she quiet that baby down.
Now look what I have to put up with while eating my meal a boob in a babies mouth, now ain't that pretty.

She quiets that baby down and still has to hear a bunch of s#!t.

It is a natural thing so get over it.  And it will continue to be for a long, long time.

Just wished that I was able to breastfed mine.

You know I never thought about it like that. I guess you are right about the fact of seeing a poor baby go hungry. I guess the era I grew up in these things just were not done. But like the "kids say" times are a changing.
And the bad thing is I really don't have a problem with it, it is not like you have to sit there and stare, at first it was a little uncomfortable. ( do not ask why I do not know) but I wen my way and they went theirs

breastfeeding is the one and only way you can be assured that your infant is being fed nutrition and not some chemical. Have you ever read the back of a can of formula? Can you read the back of a can of formula? You need a degree in chemistry to understand what they put in that stuff!  and you are giving this to your infant? Also did you know that mothers milk esp. in the first two weeks contains natural antibodies! Ever notice the yellow tinge to breast milk in the first two weeks? its tinged yellow because it contains natural antibodies that the mother has built up over her lifetime, try to find that in a can of formula.! A womens body can create life, which is amazing in itself, why would anyone be offended if that life is being sustained by the most natural way? THe ignorant people whom believe that its inappropriate to breast feed probably weren't breast fed themselves, it was taboo in the 50's/60's sad to say and the "women" who don't breast feed because they are afraid of "leaking" don't know how to properly take care of themselves! Plus breastfed babies don't have STINKING bowel movements, unlike formula fed, wonder why?  chemical waste! any woman whom chooses to breast feed should be allowed to, ,the women that are self assured have no reason to worry what the ignorant population thinks. How do these ignorants think the human race survived to this point? oh I forgot`` Mary popped that bottle in the microwave and then fed Jesus``
