A suggestion for next year:

Have the BBQ vendors offer small sample portions (to purchase, of course). They all offered platters and sandwiches, but you fill up and can't really taste everyone's wares. I'd have liked a bite of everything, but I only had so much room.

In terms of amount or type? Crowd was good, not too many, but I think people might have lost interest and didn't hang out for long.

...was the crowd big enough to justify more vendors next year? Was the bathroom situation adequate? Was there enough for kids to do to keep interested? Enough stuff for adults to do besides eat and drink? I would think there should be craft stalls, horseshoe pits/tournaments, games, water balloon battle things, stuff like that. You can only eat and drink for so long.

I think so..

No, not enough to keep the kids busy...and that frog thing..Ugh..whoever was singing was scaring the kids.

Bathrooms were not a problem at all, except they ran out of hand soap. Not much else to do but drink and listen to music.

And yep, about 7 hours. :lmao:

This was a BIG problem. Eating BBQ, and no soap to wash the sauce off your hands, let alone after you go potty. Thank god I keep a supply of WetNaps in my purse. But that was the fault of the fairgrounds people, not the event coordinators.

They had various exhibitions - the log rolling, the BMX thing, etc. Bands all day, and pretty good ones at that. Four kiddie rides, a simulator thing that Little MM gave the :yay: to. But not a huge "fair" type of thing with games and whathaveyou.

I was entertained the whole time. Figured I'd stay for a couple of hours, and ended up staying seven hours.

The food was good. The logger's show was funny. The bikers were interesting.

I was looking for the duck races (none) it would have been a really great day!

Bug and I had a good time today. She got to see her 1st rock concert, Jimmie's Chicken Shack. She rode her cousin Robbie's shoulders right up in front. :roflmao:

I was there Saturday from about 1:30 to 9ish. I thougt the setup for a music fest was pretty near perfect. Considerable chair seating on the lawn and then tons more seating available under cover in the bleachers makes this a great spectator event. Most concert fest I go to leave you in direct sunlight all day which has you pretty worn out by the time the last band rolls around.

The sound crew was awesome. The 1/2 hour allowed in between bands was perfect timing and there didn't seem to be any problem with getting bands set up and ready to start ot their scheduled time.

I hope they give this a shot again next year. :yay:

...also a shout-out to the Reynolds... they did a great job MCing the event. They should try to get baby brother Jackie involved next year...

We spent a bit of time over there today. The music was great, but our in house Kid Rock is much better looking than the guest one today.

I really would have loved to go back today especially for the last two bands, but I had a number of things I wanted to get done today. I still have one thing on my list that I didn't get to yet. After yesterday's awesome show by Jumbulian (sp?), I want to improvise a reggae dance routine workout that includes all of the gyrating and hi-stepping I saw on stage.

There was no way possible for me to be there yesterday, but we had a great time today.

Julz, I never saw MM today... and I did get your message. I hope you are all moved in. :huggy:

I couldn't do much gyrating yesterday (long story, we'll chat later) but I sure can go for it in the privacy of my own home...

I took bellydancing last year and loved it. Once I get all settled I'm going to sign up for another class.
