Power with Control
And I walked right in there, shopped, and no one said a word to me a few weeks ago. If they had, I'd have apologized (just to take the high road), and walked right back out.

And I walked right in, looked for what I wanted and walked right out when I saw they didnt have it. Nobody said anything. Felt odd being the only one without a mask though.

I would like to thank some of you for pointing out the errors of my ways in wanting to be part of a community in getting to know my neighbors and who I do business with. What was I thinking?! I now realize that I am a customer that local businesses don't want because I actually am taking up too much of their time and resources when I want to visit their offices/place of businesses personally to hand them a check or cash that doesn't eat up 3% of their earnings. I eat their mints and dum-dums they have on the counter, I drink a bottle of water when offered to me, I ask about the kids and grandkids and talk about the weather with the receptionist, chit-chatting with fellow customers in the lobby learning about stuff other than what is in my own little world. Occasionally I take them flowers or fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden, maybe some fresh baked cookies or cupcakes, some homemade eggnog during the holidays. And all this time I didn't realize they don't actually want me there or want anything I bring to them! The candy is fake, the water is laced, the kids are fictitious and of course the weather is never accurate. I admit that I am an introvert and don't really want to be around people, but I felt that me going to businesses in person was a type of therapy for me and it kept me from going crazy. But in reality I should be staying in my basement and doing all of my business on-line, letting the Fed-Ex guy drop packages on my front stoop and waiting till dark to fetch them so as not to be seen or heard by anyone. I'm not sure what I am supposed to do with all of the cash now since there is no way to virtually trade cash that I am aware of. I now have to rethink my whole life and how I do things. I will have so much more time now in my basement to be with my virtual friends whom I have never met but give me such great advice. Screw communities - it is so overhyped!

To all of those small business owners out there that I have annoyed over the years by wanting to come into your office and transact business with, I sincerely apologize. I did not realize I was such a drain on society and your business. Not to worry - I will no longer bother you. All of my transactions will now take place with ACME, Inc since it doesn't matter who or what I talk to and communities are no longer important.

Sincerely,
TPD
I'm glad you finally learned your lesson.

Posting informational videos on YouTube.
:yay:

It takes away from peoples ability to learn the hard way.

Others need to be stopped too.

Think of all those curious little kids that were stopped from pushing Mr. Fork into Mrs. Electrical Outlet and the important life-lesson they would learn.

Crap! Just posted one 15 minutes ago showing you how to plug the hole in your tire. I will stop with the informational videos and just post my blathering videos.

Oh wait, I think I blather in all of them. Now to determine what is informative and what is blathering.

Not St. Mary's, but I was in Home Depot and Harbor Freight today in Waldorf. I was the only one without a mask. I felt unclean......
I had same exact experience (same stores). No one gave me a second look. There is a county government-mandated mask requirement, I believe.

Don't like to say it, but the more blue they are politically, the more scared they are. BOO!

You're taking what I said way out of proportion. I was just saying it's probably cheaper for them to not have the overhead of an office to run and I don't want to waste my time going in to talk about a policy with someone just trying to bilk more money out of me. My agent now calls me all the time trying to market to me, I threaten to find a new one if he keeps bothering me.

I don't care to be friendly to someone trying to upsell me on something, I hate car salesman. I don't consider someone who would pick my pocket part of a community. I'd rather buy a vacuum cleaner from Amazon than a door to door Kirby salesman (and I was one briefly).

Exactly! Take Chick Fil A for example. If they find that there was no meaningful impact to having their indoor dining closed then odds are it will never re-open. Why pay for extra electricity, extra employees, playland maintenance, upkeep with furniture, etc. when they can keep that money as profit?

Interesting tidbit, I was just out for lunch and I crossed paths with one of our towns State Farm Agents.
I asked him why he payed for a new office and a full remodel when he could just work remote at a savings to him.
He told be thats not SF's business plan, they would like the brokers office's to be well seen on the towns main roads. He also said the company also has low interest loans available to them so they can have nice offices for customers to visit.
Doesn't sound like SF wants to follow Geicos business plan.

The casino in Anderson closed the all you can eat buffet in the beginning of covid.
A few months back a new wall was built to seal it off. I would bet the cost annalists ran the numbers and it was a wash or a loser. It will not be reopened....

I believe Allstate is the same, the agent I know ended up buying his office building and leases to a doctor and a beauty salon.

Slightly related auto loans are available from your insurance company that usually include free gap insurance. I found this out on the companies website vs from the agent that is supposedly part of my community.
