It would have been a very simple conversation if they came down my driveway...No thank you, and oh yeah GTFO.... dogs may have been involved.

What do you do when Girl Scouts come to your door? Do you pull the S&W? :roflmao:

There's no other way to get them to go away! If you don't pull the S&W you end up with Thin Mints and who knows what else :jameo:

In all seriousness, the reason these guys are pushy is because it works. Reading this thread, I saw 2 people who claim to have bought meat from a random salesman out of the back of a truck. WTF?? There are probably plenty of people around here who do the same thing, which is why they keep coming around. :banghead:

Yep... it's amazing how many people will give in just so they'll be "left alone"...

Has anyone seen the HVFD SUV parked on the hill outside their office? Looks a LOT like the Capitol Meats van doesn't it?

Yeah, I don't even answer the door for those guys. As soon as somebody sees it pull into the neighborhood they send out a text to everyone else giving them a heads up.

My dad got suckered into buying from them last year. The quality was atrocious.

Shut Up Little Man!!!!
Has anyone every bought meat from them? I find them to be rude and pushy. They showed up in my driveway today and start pulling out boxes of meat to give me a "deal". I kept telling them no. They wouldn't leave. My kids were playing in the yard or I never would have talked with them. Finally I had to tell my kids to go inside and we shut the door to get them out of the driveway.

They are STILL doing that crap???

They caught me in my driveway one day. Same pitch saying order for someone else who wasn't home was now a deal for me. I said no thanks I have :nomoney: and they left peacefully.

I am thinking OP's post was more because of the unsolicited approach of the meat vendor as opposed to an inquiry about where to get good meat. But, for the record, I will also give my vote to Nick's of Clinton. Excellent quality.

That being said, these guys came to my house the other day. I guess I made the mistake of leaving my front door open behind the closed glass storm door. A younger guy (mid-20's) came to the door and gave me the same story as above that a neighbor wasn't home so he had a surplus of meat that he needs to offload ASAP. I said I wasn't interested and he sat there with puppy dog eyes and gave me a story about his boss was in town and he couldn't go back to the office with a full truck. I said "sorry" but I couldn't help him .......

..... and then directed him to my PITA neighbors door stating he'd likely be interested.

yup, I'm long overdue for a trip to Nick's ...........

I was out in the yard and they followed me around for over a half an hour talking and offering "deals". I had nothing better to do so played them for their time then walked up the back porch and went inside...

NOT Politically Correct!!
I'm more of the No Thank You, Please Leave. If they don't then my count down from 10 starts and when get to 0, you'll be the next piece of meat that gets packed!

Their number is 1-866-247-0020, everyone that is annoyed by them should call them and annoy them trying to sell them something.
