But wait, there's more...
We've settled on Sunset at the Palms in Negril, Jamaica. :yay: I love the asian-influenced, treehouse cabana-style huts they have, and the resort has stellar reviews on tripadvisor.com from others who've been there.

I am soooooooooooooooo jealous! Please post a review when you get back! When are you leaving?

Either the week before or week after Memorial Day. I'm trying to find the best place/company to book it now. I've combed through funjet, delta vacations, etc. but they're all about the same. Anyone have any recommendations for which venue to book through?

Believe it or not, Expedia has provided the most competitive prices for me. I just booked a trip in December with them to Miami and they were very reasonable (only giving them 4 days notice at that). However, they do charge the booking fee, which annoys me!

I have used Apple Vacations, Expedia, Travelocity, Orbitz - but the best one I've found so far in terms of price comparisons is Cheap Flights, Airline Tickets, Cheap Airfare & Discount Travel Deals - SideStep. They compare all the major carriers and give you the results in an easy-to-read format. They have provided bargain basement prices before and the providers are reliable. You may want to check them out, if you haven't already.

I just called Expedia because I've booked so much other travel through them, and I'm glad I did. I had a $100 coupon on file I'd forgotten about that we were able to apply to this trip. So I booked it ... for 6 nights (May 24-31), all inclusive w/airfare, transfers, travel insurance, etc. it was a little under $2800, and that was about $200 less than what the other sites came back with BEFORE transfers and travel insurance. :yay: :yay:

Once we got digging around the islands in terms of researching them, evaluating resorts/rooms, what they offered, amenities, etc, SATP-Negril ended up being our first choice, so I'm thrilled! Look out Jamaica ... here we come! :yahoo:

Bass-ackwards as it is, now that the important part is ironed out, we can get planning the actual wedding. :lmao:

See if you can get someone to take up up to Mayfield Falls. It was off the beaten path when we were there and NOT a big tourist attraction.

:yay: Will do ... I figure we'll play it day-by-day when we get there in terms of getting out/about to see different things, but I'm open to all suggestions. We'll take them along and figure it out when we get there. I've read a lot of recommendations/suggestions on Tripadvisor.com. Definately want to do the horseback riding on the beach, and visit one/more of the waterfall type places, the cliff diving ... we're psyched!

We did the horseback riding, went to both Dunn's River & Mayfield Falls. WATCHED the cliff divers at Rick's in Negril. Had the table out at the end of the point.

As painful as this sounds, I did an 18 mile bike ride in the Blue Mountains in Jamaica. It was all downhill, I pedaled once to get across the bridge at the end to go to a small waterfall/swimming hole that I liked a lot better than the Dunns River Falls! We were served breakfast and lunch while on the ride. Nothing beats drinking Blue Mountain coffee while looking out at the Blue Mountains! There was a little lime green car that was pointed out to us before we started the ride - we passed it at the halfway point and were able to spot it at the end, so we could see how far we went.

Holy crap! I went on an 18 mile bike ride in the Blue Mountains and like half of it was uphill! I need a better tour guide...i'm in shape and liked the challenege, but there were people falling out left and right..they had a truck following us and by the end of the tour, over half of the people were in the back of the truck...two people looked like they were going to have heat stroke!!!!

It was this past July so it was hot...but dang, i want the downhill tour!

Antigua this summer....no bike rides...:lmao:

Antigua is my next spot...unfortunately car repairs has postponed it for a year.

As for the bike ride, I double checked daily to make sure it was downhill the whole way before I committed!

I went to Cancun for my honeymoon and that was great. We stayed at a place called the Sun Palace. It was at the south end of Cancun and it was pretty quite. But you could take a bus to the "party end" if you wanted. Our hotel was all inclusive so we didn't pay for anything. It had 4 resturants in it, all your food and drinks are paid for. It was awsome.
