Caribbean/Mexico/Bahamas

In Jamaica they called me Princess. I did NOT let them get a hold of my waist length air!

I saw a mother/daughter team in Freeport and the daughter had apparently promised something to the young girl they were braiding. When the daughter didn't come through, the parent summoned the mother - the mother was cursing at the daughter the whole time. They sound really scary when they are arguing with one another but I've never seen them get violent. They might raise their voices and get animated but not physical.

Even though they call out to you, I'm still respectful and simply reply "No thank you." If you keep walking, they won't bother you. After all, that's how they make their living...

RCI Freedom Of The Seas - Western Caribbean

Hi All,

My wife, two boys (11 & 9) and I are getting ready for a <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:smarttags" />Western Caribbean cruise this month on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas. We’re leaving out of the Port of Miami and our stops include Labadee, Haiti; Ochos Rios, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel, Mexico.

“SeaRide” has already given me a bunch of valuable info on this particular cruise via PMs. I was hoping if anyone else has been on any RCI cruises out of Miami or to any of the stops I mentioned, are there any tips and secrets about the embarkation process, the debarkation process, the best excursions, or anything else to keep in mind or to avoid. I would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance…………………….

CC- seriously

Hey let me know how your vacay/honeymoon goes- my brother and SIL are taking my nephew (2-yrs-old) to Jamaica later this year. They are also taking my SIL's sister- (not sure what she is to me) - so they can go out on the town, etc....I also just found out that another friend is getting married in the DR in April. :buddies:

Where would you go if you're looking for a nice, white sand beach, peace/quiet, some local activity but less worried about touristy/bar-hopping stuff and more about R&R ... Turks & Caicos looks nice ... Cayman is pretty ...

Any specific area and/or resort recommendations?

TIA!

Try Antigua... there are some beautiful beaches... For a resort well that would depend on the price you want to pay... but there are some very nice spots for rest and relaxation... good luck one your trip... God Bless

Shame on you if you are a travel agent. You should know the correct spelling is Antigua.
