We got a hamburger at McDonald's one time on Great Mills road, opened the sandwich up and there was no burger in it.

Mighty Mo's in the 60s.

:yeahthat: Used to be a place in Clinton called Joe's El Rancho, had fantastic onion rings and a place in Indian Head, I think it was called BJ's BBQ, had the best onion rings I've ever tasted. They may still be open, but, this was years ago. We used to stop on our way to Super Chief Drive In or ABC Drive in.

I remember the SuperChief. Was ABC the one in the woods off of old Branch avenue?

When I worked for John Denison Landscaping, John would drive from his office in Oxon Hill to have BBQ there and that Mama Lucias? Italian restaurant in Bryan's Road.
He would tell all his managers he was going to his nursery down on the Potomac near where Marshall Hall amusement park was.
What it meant was, if you wanted a free lunch, get your a$$ down Indian Head hwy.

Edit, I see it might be called Dale's Smokehouse now or then?

Blast from the past..used to be dozens of drive-ins in the area.

:yay:

What was the bar in Bryan’s road there by the corner of 210 and 227?

one of my Uncles used to drive from Hyattsville to hang out there.

It was a big deal if when we were all kids to go out and eat at the Hot Shops Jr in Rockville, after roller skating at Congressional if we were really lucky.
Hot Shops Cafeteria, Gino's KFC and Shakey's Pizza in downtown Bethesda. And a huge treat to get ice cream at the Bethesda Gifford's.

Holy crap...my first "real" gf lived on Riding Stable Rd in Laurel. I lived in Glenelg, in Howard County, when we first started dating, but had my own place in Mt. Airy before I graduated HS. Long-arsed drives back and forth in my '57 Chevy that ate 103 octane and got crappy fuel mileage. Ahh...but I was in love.
