Okay, we bit the bullet and tried the restuarant yesterday evening. It $ucked!
After having to wait over a half hour to get seated in the place where it looked like half the tables weren't being used, we were seated at a table in a high traffic area.
We waited nearly another 20 minutes for waitress to come by and at least take drink orders. When none came we finally asked one nearby and she goes to check. We hear her behind us asking the rest of the staff who's table we are and they are all "it's not my table". Finally we get moved to a table in a less trafficy area that has a waitress that goes with it. We go through the slow process of ordering our food.
I will say that my blackened fish sandwhich was good, my wife wasn't too impressed with her chicken sandwhich. We both said we would never go back.

I remember the Outback Restaurant being like that for the first few months.
The staff needs time to get things straightened out, about waitressing, table assignments, etc.

After our first visit, I said to my date: we're not going back there for a while. Too much chaos.

It's a lot better now, as you all know.

Yesterday was my first time going there for lunch. The burger was pretty good but was really greasy. The dining area looks great though.

Mrs. Toxick says its more of an adult oriented club than a restaraunt. But a couple days ago I drove by, and there was an ess-load of little guys outside - they looked like part of the line to get inside.

So is it adult oriented, or family oriented? Or some form of hybrid?

I went on Sunday night and watched the game. The mini burgers were awesome and beer prices were in line with other theme restaurants. I can't wait to go back with the LW. :yay:

It's as adult oriented as Outback, except the bar is a little more prominent. They have a kids menu, and give the kids crayons, so they are catering to families.

I think I want to get a part-time job here. Sounds fun and so busy that tips would be awesome since I am a Virgo and we are perfectionists and very nurturing. And the fact that I have no restaurant skills won't matter. :yahoo:

It's either this or stripping. :ohwell:

Oh and I have a few questions for those who have dined there. I want to mainly know how do they keep the children protected from exposure to those under the influence. So...

1) For the purpose of bringing children how close is the main dining room to the bar or is there a separate area for those with children?

2) Has anyone seen someone get plastered there at any time of the day, even mildly plastered?

3) Is the tipsy-ness from the drinks too much for children to witness if a patron seems tipsy?

4) What is the seating arrangements and floorplan of the restaurant like (booths, tables and chairs, big tables, etc.)?

5) Has anyone dined (or know anyone who has) at any other Jimmy Buffet restaurants like the ones in FL?

TIA :flowers:

I have been to the bar area a couple of times and don't see what the problem is with kids being in the area near the bar.

The cage for those who bring children with them is located in back and separated by a wall so they don't bother anyone.

No, all areas are fully finished and construction is completed.

3) Is the tipsy-ness from the drinks too much for children to witness if a patron seems tipsy?
Is the tipsey-ness from children's drinks or food too much for adults to witness or will they be grossed out and unable to enjoy their meal?

4) What is the seating arrangements and floorplan of the restaurant like (booths, tables and chairs, big tables, etc.)?
Seating is arranged by weight. Heavy people get big tables and booths, normal weight people get tables and chairs.

5) Has anyone dined (or know anyone who has) at any other Jimmy Buffet restaurants like the ones in FL?
Probably or they'd be out of business by now.
