Geraldo actually coined the phrase yesterday.

"Malignant explosive self pitty"

He rants about the rich and Christians? Sounds like a Max EMO to me.
I don't feel sorry for him. He's pretty wealthy to be going to VT, wealthier than most. He's just self-centered.

I just said in another thread, the fact he was cited for stalking and an entire class dropped a course because of him. VT should've stepped in right there.
The problem here is when does "the establishment" step in and take custody of someone acting whacky?

What degree of whacky is dangerous?

What do you do with whacky people?

Self pity and victimhood are vile, wealth is relative to the person who thinks they are poor.

At what point does Virginia Tech say, "We can't have this person here?"

I don't think I could;ve said he would kill someone but the fact that he was stalking and his behavior was this disturbing should've resulted in administrative action.

2,600 acre small town size campus without walls, gates, fences or controlled entry. So you kick him out and he comes back 2 weeks later and does it.

Being crazy isn’t a crime. :ohwell:

All they can do is a Involuntary Commitment

And that is a tough process, lots of red tape. :ohwell:

Has there been any attempt to transcribe this video yet? I’m looking but I’m not finding anything. I’m not sure if it is just my lousy hearing or if he is mumbling.

Pretty much. :ohwell:

So what all did he say in the video? I got a phone call while it was on and couldn't watch.

Sounds like the same ole mesh from the Columbine shooters and the Unibomber.

"I didn't have to do this, I could have left."

He clearly had mental problems.

Why do you keep saying that? You don't have to be wealthy to attend Virginia Tech.

And you think this kid got in on a full paid scholarship?
I wouldn't know, but if he didn't, he didn't need to be wealthy to attend. Grants, private scholarships and student loans ensure that anyone can attend, assuming they have their academics in order. Isn't he from South Korea? Maybe people over there are sponsoring him. The point is, you don't know, so stop harping on it.

When referring to a person's personality and attitude, most definitions of emo hold that an "emo person" is candid about their emotions, sensitive, shy, introverted, broken-hearted, glum, and often quiet.[6][9] Emo personality is also often connected with writing poetry, which addresses confusion, depression, loneliness, and anger, all resulting from the world's inability to understand the author. Emo poetry uses a combination of any of: a highly emotional tone, stream of consciousness writing, a simple (ABAB) or nonexistent rhyme scheme, references to the flesh, especially the heart, heavy use of dark or depressing adjectives, concern over the mutability of time and/or love, and disregard for punctuation, grammar, and/or spelling. Themes such as life is pain are common.[10]

Some definitions of emo hold that typical "emo persons" are likely to inflict self-injury, most often by means of cutting, burning, or otherwise mutilating themselves.[11] [9] Some assert that it is cool within the emo subculture to pretend to be suicidal and self-harm,[12] or that participants self-harm purely for personal enjoyment.[13]

Emos are also stereotyped to use depressing Internet screen names within straight edge X's, often using ironic sloganry, a poetic sense or cliché (eg. xmourningafterx).[8]
