Either they were mistaken or you heard wrong. I seriously doubt that only 20 kids out the class went on to 4 year colleges. Isn't the graduating class over 200 kids?

1676 kids enrolled grades 9 - 12.. Would think it would be closer to 400.

they already get >120 days of vacation time a year, how much do they need??
Wow, Bob. 180 days of instruction time, plus >120 days of vacation, plus 104 weekend days. What planet do you live on where there are >404 days per year?

It took me about 15 seconds to find this about Cowpie High:

2007 Grade 12 Documented Decisions
Students

Attend a four-year college 105 students, 29.3 %

Attend a two-year college 73 students, 20.4 %

:yay:

There were 342 graduates in June 2007 at CHS. My daughter was one of them. She is going to CSM for 2 years then transferring to a University to get her masters. And if I remember correctly, I do believe there was about 20-30 of those kids going into the military after graduation. :patriot:

My son just started CHopticon this year. His English Honors teacher has been out all week and the sub told them she will be out part of next week that she is on a cruise. How can this be allowed? I made a phone call and it was confirmed that she is indeed on a cruise. She couldn't do this over a break? Do teachers live in the real world???? This has me livid and I plan on calling Annapolis about this. No wonder the children aren't learning anything.
You're very self centered. :smack:

Go ahead and call Annapolis and take away all of our vacations.

I work in the Board of Education, too. Should I not be allowed to go on vacation because you want me to work year round. Am I supposed to center my life around your little brat kid.

Eff him.

You do realize she needs to get a Bachelors (4 year degree) before she can get a Masters don't you?

GO sub for one week and see if you could do?? I bet you wont say sh*t about any teacher taking a break again

Of course she would. If that flippin' teacher hadn't taken that time off she wouldn't have had to sub for her.

Karma's a #####.

Most kids that I know ended up being druggies or drop outs. Going to a private school does not equate to being successful. Often times it just means the parents have more money.
I went to a private school for about a year and got out because it just wasn't worth it. Most of my schooling was public. I make almost 100k a year.

I hope you really don't think this way. The school is just a tool - the child and child's parents are what makes the student...

For better drugs!!

We were told that less than 20 students from Choption went off to 4 year universities last year. Thats wonderful:bigwhoop:

A lot of people start off at a 2 year college, then transfer to a 4 year on after. Not a new practice. Get off your high horse.

Shame on the sub and the school for telling you the teach is on a criuse. It's none of your business as to why a teach is off from work. That's a matter between the teach and their supervisor.

Nice try.. where did you learn to do math?

I would assume there were weekends in those 120 days off (or 4 months worth of vacation) SO that would be 40 of your 104 week-ends.. where does the math leave you now?? Right around 364??

Let's use St. Mary's schools as an example. Teachers last day is June 13, first day is August 13. Is that 120 days?

Do weekends count against your vacation time? Why should they count against the teachers?
