For your consideration ...
Leonardtown is losing/lost its town charm status with all the new commercial construction and high density housing. In a few more years, it won't be recognizable.
You can thank the Leonardtown government for the destruction of a once quaint town. And what it boils down to? More tax revenue to feed the government coffers.
"The Commissioners of Leonardtown adopted the Downtown Strategic Plan prepared by Mahan Rykiel Associates at their February 11, 2019 Town Council meeting. This plan is a product of many stakeholder sessions and public meetings. The plan will serve as a visionary document that shapes the future of downtown Leonardtown. The scope of the plan includes both economic and urban development strategies."
And I really love their Marxist thinking .... For the supposed everybody-knows-everybody friendly neighbors town, it projects complete disassociation from the public it is set up to ostensibly serve. Just like SMECO.
NOTICE OF NEW UTILITY LATE FEE
Utility bills are mailed at the end of each calendar quarter. Failure to receive a bill does not constitute grounds for non-payment.
So, if there are people that do not use computers or smartphones, or simply do not pay bills online, how is one supposed to know how much to pay?
Oh. And I bet ya, in the near future, annexation of new lands/areas will happen. It is only a matter of time.
If ya want to know what the future of Leonardtown will be, with such altruistic endeavors as,
"Tap potential for Downtown housing—through both owner occupied and for-rent products • Exploit potential opportunity for a flagged hotel", here is the Downtown [Leonardtown] Strategic Plan. That I'm guessing that many do not even know about.
