My father had a suitcase just for taking steamed crabs out to relatives whenever someone flew to Arizona or California. It never got lost by the airlines.
I was on a flight in South Korea once that had to be evacuated before take-off due to something really rotten a little Korean lady had brought on board in her carry-on "luggage". Nasty.

When I was a kid, a great uncle owned/managed a large guest lodge on an island up in Maine. Every year when he closed for the season, he'd bring a huge mess of lobsters down to MD and treat the whole family to a feast. He had a small utility trailer that he pulled behind his old sedan...he had had a copper-lined and insulated box built in to it. He'd pick the lobsters up at the wharf, pack them in seaweed/grass and ice and roll on south. They always arrived live and feisty...

Fun fact: Prior to being commercialized, lobsters were considered the “poor man's chicken” and primarily used for fertilizer or fed to prisoners. Later, through marketing and propaganda, lobster became to be considered a delicacy and, as a result, what was once a poor man's food became only affordable for them richer peeps.
