Surely you jest ...
The post showing on the Military forum made me think of this song

This has been my 'stuck in my head' song since yesterday when I saw it on the board. Playing over and over. I was thinking about looking it up and posting later. :yay:

Bear with it a bit, looks like the poster to youtube was trying to do something else at first. Buck Trent and Roy Clark. I miss Hee Haw. Corny, but good, clean fun.

I don't listen to gospel music very often, but there is a comfort there when I do.

You can always pick Grandpa Jones and Buck Owens out of a crowd, can't you?

I know I've posted Rosanne Cash doing her daddy's song "Tennessee Flat Top Box," but this version and the lead up to it is especially poignant.

Since 'Rose Garden' was played to death. I put this up, it always was
my favorite by her anyway.

Want to be shocked? I was, go to NNDB in search option leave all, then enter Lynn Anderson. Sad.

As with much of country music, this could also go in gospel music. The harmonies of the Vincent Family are awe-inspiring. "Wounded Soldier."

I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed hearing Rhonda Vincent sing. "Once a Day."

The Kendalls charted with this back in the day, and there's something so distinctive about the combination of their voices that's lacking in this version, but it's still a good version.

This is a much better demonstration of Jeannie Kendall's voice...but Rhonda's harmonies can make anyone sound that much better. Kendall has a good sound, but it's almost like hearing the radio with one of the speakers missing. Just not quite as full as when she's dueting with a strong partner.

I remember posting Sweethearts of the Rodeo a while back, but I can't remember where, or which song. Listening to Rhonda Vincent brought me back to SoR and this song, "Midnight Girl in a Sunset Town." It was our childhood for a lot of us.

Two favorites: Old Crow Medicine Show and Gillian Welch. This one is a cover of a song by the Band, "The Weight."
