Mittens hasn't had the pleasure yet. I'm sure she'll get her day.

Manny's in bad shape right now, he's at MASH getting IV fluids right now. The x-ray looks like either he has something stuck in his stomach, or something is wrong with his pancreas. We'll be heading back shortly to just be there with him. Hoping for the best.

I hope he makes a speedy recovery. :huggy:

YW. What happened to him?

They think he more than likely ate something he wasn't supposed to that he can't vomit or pass.

We went back to the hospital so we could see him before he went into surgery, but they told us we'd have to wait outside if we wanted to stay. They did tell us that the IV seems to be knocking down his fever. If I didn't feel so rushed out the door I would have asked about another xray too. You know, to see if the obstruction has moved at all.

I'm so worried about him. He's only a year old, he shouldn't have to get surgery this young. I hope they call me and tell me what's going on soon.

That's right up the street from me. If you'd like somebody to be with you, just let me know. :huggy:

Oh wait..you're not there I guess.

Hmm..were they crowded? I've always waited in the waiting room or on the bench outside.

Oh gosh... :huggy: They are wonderful at MASH and I am sure they are doing everything for Manny. Keep us posted.

They're sending him to surgery asap, his fever stopped going down. They said to expect a call at 8, once he's out of surgery, everything has worn off and he's breathing on his own.

They said I should call back at 6am tomorrow morning to have the overnight vets give me an update, and if I can take him home or transfer him to my local vet.

I wish I could be there with him.

They told me they got really crowded as soon as I left. I really didn't want to go, but my boyfriend had to go to work and my parents needed lunch. I suppose I would have been waiting a while anyways, but I would have liked to have been there just to be near him in case something horrible happened, you know?

4 hours is going to be a long wait before I hear he's okay. Even longer to see him tomorrow morning. I can't wait until I have him back home and feeling well.

Yeah, I've heard good things and avoided Waldorf thanks to this board. Was looking for a 24 hour vet on here a few weeks ago just in case something awful happened... and unfortunately it did. I'm glad I did my research though.

Hope he will be okay. I was concerned you were there alone (parents at Faire). Keep us updated.

Oh, right - they came home early so my dad could get packed for a business trip. No call yet, and that's a good sign - they said they shouldn't have to unless something went wrong. Still worrying, but I know he'll be alright in the end. Thanks for all the support. I wasn't expecting it to be this hard this morning.

Thank you! That makes me feel really good about Manny's surgery. That's a big kitty!

I just called at 8:30 because I hadn't got the call I expected at 8, and they told me he was still in surgery. I guess he got a late start.

They told me I may be able to take him home in the morning, or I may have to transfer him to my local vet depending on his status. I'll be calling at 6am to talk to the overnight vet to check up on that, and I'll be waiting up tonight for his post-surgery condition. I'll be sure to either post an update on here or get some rest (if at all possible). Either way, I'll definitely post here to let you guys know how he's doing by tomorrow morning.

Thanks again for all the support, to all you guys, I wish there was a better way than this I could convey my appreciation. I'm starting to relax a little; the more time passes, and the more I research, the more I realize that this is not uncommon nor a terribly difficult endeavor.

I'll never forget your names, or what you've done to help me keep my sanity. I wish the best for your pets' health for the rest of their lives as you've wished for mine.

:huggy:
