Date + Cell = ?

Older? I'm 25.

I don't care what the damn excuse is. Is she on a date with a person or a cell phone? If it's me? You get one warning. After that, either I confiscate the phone or I leave. End discussion.

*Disclaimer: This excludes the occasional text and the check in calls. Matter of fact, if she doesn't have a check in call, I'll yell at her for it myself.*

old fart! :coffee:

alot of you older people don't seem to understand how younger women operate these days. they are as addicted to cell phones and texting as people can be with cigarettes. it has nothing to do with a lack of interest (especially when they say they are interested and want to do another date...cmon now) or anything like that. they just literally HAVE to answer the phone every time a call or text comes in. it's second nature to them. the key is working them off of it. if they're worthwhile, then it's worth trying.

Oh :bs: Gumbo's gal was just plain rude. I could see her talking one call or text but the next thing she should've done was excuse herself for being rude and then turning the phone off until they parted ways.

I've seen people of all ages with cells stuck to their ears while doing everything imaginable. I used to wonder what could be so important - but a lot of them were loud talkers and I could hear their conversations...

Most of them just were idiots yapping like little chihuahuas just to make noise.

You just made me think of a good note: If a female showed up to a date with one of those bluetooth headsets in her ear, I would get up and walk away if it wasn't off of her ear in 5 minutes or less :yay:

What if she was waiting to tell her sick mother she'd be home to cook soup after her date?

:nono: Gumbo says this happened to a "friend".

:killingme That was a hypothetical joke.
Bluetooth implies she uses that phone a lot though, so she'd need a good explanation to keep me there :yay:

Could very well mean that she is a conscientious driver and uses handsfree when possible.

If she just forgot to take it off after driving, I could forgive her for that.

And at the end of the night this person also says they had a good time and wants to do it again.:faint:

Not to be mean or anything but maybe she was just saying that she had a good time to be nice? Maybe she just wasn't that in to you...

I agree, the chick was rude from what we heard. And I didn't mean to say that they were saying anything important at all. I'm saying it's possible...sometimes you have to give people the benefit of the doubt. But what I said was the most likely cause was just that they are addicted to their phones. It IS possible...just like someone can become addicted to a computer or video game, a normal phone, etc etc. But like I said, it's usually something that happens to younger people...at a certain age u just need to put the phone DOWN!

I bet you have a pimple on your ass older than Beta.

Well, I don't know about that but I guess it's possible.

I wonder how many people were taught phone etiquette. I remember learning it in elementary school. Over the years I've noticed it lacking in certain people. When my kids started getting calls and I answered the phone I'd hear...

Yo dog, is ____ there?
Me: Sorry the dog doesn't answer the phone or take calls.
Is s/he there or not?
Me: Who's calling? (I wait for an answer) No s/he isn't.
Them *click* <--- When they rudely hang up like that I block their number.

My step-daughters SO had the worst phone manners of any adult I've ever encountered. I told him if he couldn't be bothered to use phone etiquette then he'd better not call and expect me to answer.
