Infinite Impetus
In a society where women freely give away sex, compansionship, and children on demand, just what is offered by women that would make a man want to commit?

Women's primary driving force is security. Men provide their own security. Only weak men need emotional support. We are our own "rock." What is a woman providing in return for receiving the security of commitment? They no longer for the most part have wifely skills, especially the current crop of 35ish & under. I learned to do my own laundry and to cook on my own, so just what benefit is there nowadays?

Does logic always prevail?

If a man is looking for a woman with 5 kids, living in her mommas basement, 3 times divorced, and loaded with emotional baggage, more power to him. That's not what I have to offer.

Looking for a soul mate and the love of my life.

Are you hot?

I can provide my own security TYVM.

"Wifely skills"? :smack: If you see women as good for only cooking, cleaning, and sex your love life must be realllllly thriving.

It's not a fairy tale. Love is as real as the air you breath.

What most people call love is a myth. you won't always like your SO- no matter what you feel like NOW when they're around. It's better to find a good arrangement.

I have to disagree. There are very few words or feelings that can have so many meanings. Love is what you make of it, really. It wouldn't be a particularly 'good arrangement' for me personally to risk my life for a loved one but I'd do it.

Like I said, it's all your personal philosophy or what you make of it. I think people can fall into love and out of it just as quickly. Love isn't impervious to life's many changes that will assuredly pull us in one direction or another.

I agree with the bold part, that's why I feel it's overrated. That "True Love" garbage that never dies and doesn't take constant maintenance and choice to keep going and can be counted on to always exist is what I call a myth.

Well, in that case I agree. That true love that never dies crap is just too Hollywood for me.

Love will die if you push it down, kick it a few times, give it poison, poor something flamable on it, light it, drive a buldozer over it, bury it, shoot the spot that you buried it under, then flood the land, ... you get the picture. Or, its easy to kill love if you just ignore it. it will die pretty quick that way, too.

Are you a spawn of Ward Cleaver? Crawl out from under your "dark ages" rock and get a clue about women. Most of us work, have your babies, do the laundry, cook and still love to have sex. Maybe that 35 and under crowd of gals got wise when they saw their momma doing all of the above...and not being appreciated by daddy.
