Why are you sitting on that bar stool for several hours watching TV alone?

I lost count of how many of you I've seen over the last few days. The wedding ring is clearly visible and you're not there with pals, nor are you actively trying to pick up women or meet anyone. So why are you there? Is your TV at home brokeded? Did you and the little woman have a spat and you're drowning your sorrows? Is she out of town and you thought you'd venture out and see how the other half lives?

I really don't get people who hang out in bars alone. I've never done that in my life and don't see the attraction. Any ideas?

People watching.

I think it is as simple as that... they want to hang out in the bar alone. And it probably is for reasons as simple as not wanting to hear that he shouldn't be drinking because of his bloodwork or he is avoiding the chores that he should be doing or he doesn't want to hear the kids fighting etc.:shrug:

I have a lot of friends at the joint that I/we frequent. If my wife is out of town or out for girlz night, I have no problem going up and sitting at the bar, by myself, enjoying a few beers and watching T.V. I may or may not get into a conversation with above mentioned friends and if I don't, I'm perfectly happy with that. Will say hello and goodbye on upon entry and exit, but that may be it.

Alone in a crowded busy bar?

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.

Wouldn't you like to get away?

Sometimes you want to go

Where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see,
our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows
Your name.

You wanna go where people know,
people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows
your name.

All those night when you've got no lights,
The check is in the mail;
And your little angel
Hung the cat up by it's tail;
And your third fiance didn't show;

Sometimes you want to go
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
You want to be where you can see,
Our troubles are all the same;
You want to be where everybody knows your name.

Roll out of bed, Mr. Coffee's dead;
The morning's looking bright;
And your shrink ran off to Europe,
And didn't even write;
And your husband wants to be a girl;

Be glad there's one place in the world
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
You want to go where people know,
People are all the same;
You want to go where everybody knows your name.

Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came;
Where everybody knows your name,
And they're always glad you came...

We sit there contemplating the countless years of our lives we've wasted and can never get back, then, once we’ve realized we’re too sad and pathetic to even kill ourselves we crawl back home, slip into bed and pray to God we don’t wake up the wife. :yay:

They sit there quaffing their drink, knowing that some person-watcher will notice them sitting there by themselves and make a comment on a social media website, trying to figure out what they are doing there, when in fact, it's they who are wondering what you are doing.

If they can't see that I'm dancing and talking to friends, then they are completely socially retarded and that explains why they're sitting there alone.
