How long have you lived in southern Maryland?

Almost 12 and a half. But I knew y'all have hunters so I figured it was the hunters chasing them - why else would they run out in front of a car flying down the road

:ohwell:

This thread is not quite going the direction I had intended. :ohwell:

Deer Whistles.... yay or nay...??

The does are running from the bucks. They'd rather get hit by a car than deal with his smelly, rutty self.

Nay.

Dems, sometimes they are running from hunters. It's getting to be the time of the rut. They are only thinking of one thing.

Dems, you really don't know who was watching you get your juvenile jollies... they just didn't shoot at you.

How long does the rut last so I'll know and feel better about driving. I hate driving now because at night and morning its dark and I'm so terrified of one jumping out at me again. As a result I drive really slowly but unfortunately it makes jerks tailgate me. That exacerbates the problem. Now I'm worried about hitting a deer AND getting rear ended all in one fail swoop. I was really hoping the whistles would work. Then hoping maybe I just had them on wrong - I have them like this on my bumper {>>>> - figured it to be the obvious direction.

fail?

Most people worry about hitting a deer this time of year. It's normal. Best thing you can do is to educate yourself about what to do in the moment that you do hit one.

Right now it would be extracting the car from behind me that went up my azz.

I just figured if you drove slow and cautiously enough you could always avoid it then learned last October sometimes you just can't avoid it at any speed, so I got deer whistles. Glad I didn't buy abuot 50 of them and put them all over my truck
