I say this in the nicest way possible, but whether or not your daughter goes to preschool really has no bearing on her career path.
Whatever. I didn't get into pre-k when I was younger and look at me now - I'm a stripper at Rose's.

My oldest son is in K now, but when he was 4, he didn't get in either. Aced the test, and we made too much.

My youngest IS in PRE-K now, I told him not to ace the pre-exam! It musy have worked. He's actually smarter than the older son (always has been). In my opinion, he is doing much better than the older boy in school. He will be much more comfortable and more prepared when next year rolls around and he's in school all day.
You told your son to act stupid and lie. Great mother :yay:

How many of you parents in here have had children denied from Pre-K? I have NEVER heard of being turned down b/c you make too much money or because they do not have any handicaps.
On a serious note, I would think that if you are getting any kind of assistance (whether it be housing, food, health) that would be grounds enough for entrance.

I just don't see what the rush is. One day you'll be missing those precious moments you had when they were still little and wish you still had them at home. I agree children with special needs should get the opportunity. These kids have at least 13 years of school ahead of them why push for it at 3 and 4 years of age. I simply think it's a convenience issue for many parents and not a true need.

:yeahthat: I see no rush either, my daughter who is 5 isn't in school but she will be next year in kindergarten. Treasure it while you can.

pre-k is a wonderful programme....it really does prepare the child for full time school, not all school's have the programme though..and the slots are all filled by the low income, disability children first, then if slots are available your child might get in!!
