I quit as soon as I pee'd on the stick. It really wasn't that hard.

I think about smoking every day though.

I quit EVERYTHING as soon as I thought I was preg and that would have been the day after. I agree, not that hard.

I made the "Will I be able to play the piano?" joke during my c-section. It got some laughs. :yay:

OMG! You just made me remember I told a joke too while having my last c-section... :killingme

Mine went something like this...

Three women were sitting in the OB waiting room. The brunette said, "I conceived while in the missionary position so I know I'm having a girl." The redhead said, "Well, I conceived will I was on top so I know I'm having a boy." The blonde burst into tears... the other women asked, "What's wrong!?!?!?!" The blonde replied, "I'm having puppies....:bawl:"

I personally think the statistics are skewed and half the studies out there are full of crap.

I tend to agree with this. My personal observation and experience says that smoking during pregnancy has no ill effects on the baby. It certainly doesn't hurt to quit smoking period, but with all the activism that goes on in the medical community, I take the hysteria with a grain of salt.

And, yes, I smoked while pregnant with both of my kids. Both were completely healthy, normal birth weight, and are now healthy adults.

Please, explain crack babies then. Nicotine (for example) runs through your system, and to the baby, same as crack

No offense to crack babies..can't help what mama did...but that doesn't mean they were perfectly healthy when born...

Is crack made from nicotine?

I'm pretty sure that tobacco has less severe effects than crack. :lmao:

D's mom smoked, drank, and who knows what else :)rolleyes:) when she was pregnant with him and his brother. They were both 3 months premature, and each weighed ~1.5 lbs. There could have been some underlying hormonal issues there. Who knows. I'm curious why she didn't quit when she got pregnant the second time.

I'm a non smoker anyway, so it's a given no.
But I really get upset when I see a pregnant woman smoking.

Oh sure, now that they're grown and gone. Where were these do-gooders when I had teenagers making me insane?? I had to call CPS on myself.

:killingme I wish would have thought about that way back when too.....may have saved me some gray hairs...

I guess big tobacco has to cover its :moon:

I just get uncomfortable seeing a pregnant woman smoking, the same feeling I get when I saw kool aid or soda in a baby bottle :jameo:

Let me jot that down on the memo board.... I'll need to remember it in 9 years :lmao:

What does that have to do with anything? :lmao:
Both are addictive and influence your brain

Spoken like a true nonsmoker. How does nicotene influence your brain? I've never gotten high or lost brain cells because of it? Show us the statistics.

Soda in a baby bottle? I know I'm only now pregnant and don't have kids yet but why would it even cross someone's mind to give a baby soda? :smack: In fact when I worked with kids, I absolutely loved those parents who limited the sugar in their kid's diets - made my job SO much easier!

As for my pregnancy, I never smoked cigarettes (tobacco doesn't agree with my family so well) so I didn't have to worry about quitting. I would have quit though, just like I've quit drinking and cut back to one daily cup of coffee. No wine, cold ones or cherry vodka/sugar free redbulls for me until March 11th. :bawl:

It's so funny you say that, reminds me of my high school/college days. I always used to ask my friends (90% of them smoked) why they loved smoking cigatettes so much when it didn't even get them high. I guess I just never understood the point. :killingme
