Not pregnant, have no children.

However, my mother smoked, drank alcohol and among other things while pregnant with me, and I weighed in at 9lbs 7ozs, and have a pretty decent iq. My granddad who was a lived a completely clean life - no drugs, no alcohol, no cigs, etc., died of bone cancer. :eyebrow:

I personally think the statistics are skewed and half the studies out there are full of crap.

As far as having children, the giant and I discussed this and decided only stupid people should bred. Intelligent people know better.

Besides, if you want to look at the law of averages, two highly intelligent people wait until later in life to even consider having children and those children have high odds of being born developmentally challenged due to the older age of the parents involved. Whereas stupid people are popping them out at young healthy ages, passing down genes that are stored away that give them higher odds of being more intelligent than their parents.

Rent Idiocracy.

I quit smoking once I found out I was pregnant. Personal choice. It wasn't hard to do. I did try to light one up after I found out but the thought of it just made me sick.
My second pregnancy I smoked my last Cig the next day with a girlfriend at work and then handed my full pack over to her to finish for me.

I am now smoke free for a little over a year. There are days I wish I had a pack but I don't trust myself to smoke just one.

I don't care too much to see a pregnant person walking around with a smoke hanging out of their mouths.

I smoked while pregnant with my first child and he has had nothing but trouble with asthma all his life. He was also the smallest of my babies. I quit when I went to conceive my daughter and have never went back. She was a healthy 8 lb 14 oz baby and my third child was 7 lb 3 oz but was 3 weeks early. The 2nd and 3rd child continue to be healthy as horses where as my first child is allergic to everything under the sun. I whole heartedly believe that if I had not smoked while carrying him he would have been just as healthy as they are. :yay:

That is the WORST.

I was speaking of the subject but yes I agree with you 1000%

I banned that purple bastage form my household before my son was born. That was the one thing I stuck with that I said I would never do before he was born, never let him watch or know what Barney is. He sucks. Period.

I also banned the big purple goof, but little kiddo wanted a stuffed talking Barney she saw at a yard sale and I ended up getting it for her.

One day she squeezed it's hand and it went "I love y...EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE". Very. Loudly.

I grabbed the doll, banged it on the table several times, pulled the voice box out, and then had to grab a screwdriver to get the batteries out.

Veggrrl just sat there wide eyed staring as mommy beat, stabbed, and ripped Barney's guts out to keep him from making that scary noise. I tried to give it back to her, and she just shook her head noooooo.....

Now if only she had been scared off Teletubbies.

Anyone walking around with a cig hanging out of their mouth is tacky. My mom taught me that along with the clean underwear rule.

I did smoke while I was pregnant, but not in public for fear of being stoned to death.

I have two very healthy children.

I didnt smoke while pregnant with either of my children. I just thought it was a common no-no. My first child I did what I thought was right and took care of myself except those dang on vitamins. They were huge and made me sick. Anyways, I had my son and he weighed 8lbs 4oz. 6 hours later I got called back to the nursery and the doctor told me my newborn child was being flown to Childrens Hospital to have immediate open heart sugery. He explained so much more but I dont remember cause I blacked out. So, on that note I dont agree with smoking while pregnant but no one ever knows how there baby is going to turn out mentally or physically. I wish all mothers well with themselves and there unborn baby.

If you had smoked, they would have said that's what caused it.
