Does anybody like their kids?

Pixie, all this defensiveness and protest over comments that you have blown completely out of proportion tell me that you feel guilty about something. So what is it? You can tell us....

Well that was uncalled for. The class is just oozing these days. If you'd been paying attention the past 4 years you'd of noticed the one thing that REALLY gets me angry is when someone says something negative regarding my kids. Out of everything I've done in my life the one thing I've done right and am proudest of is my kids.

I'm not knocked up but I fear you may be going through the change of life or something.
I understand. When I was a kid, I thought anyone over the age of 40 was ancient, too. :huggy:

I took her comment as belittling my parental responsibilities
That's because you're highly defensive and looking for a fight. She didn't say anything that would provoke such an aggresive response from you. She even came back later and spelled it out for you, that she doesn't look down on you.

If you're feeling overwhelmed and hostile, then you need to own that - not try and project it on someone else.

Please show me where she said anything negative about your kids.

I'll wait....

Ok, Dr. Laura. :killingme

The last sentance was rich considering your recent behavior.

She looked down her nose at my parental responsiblity. So if I can't parent then how can I have happy healthy kids.

I don't think I took anything the wrong way. I took her comment as belittling my parental responsibilities because they aren't as much as her which was exactly how I took her response as well.
I kinda took it that way, too. The "shakingmyhead" comment came across very much like, "Oh PLEASE! You should try being ME! :drama:" You both sound like excellent mommies and mommies definitely need a day off now and then.

That's how I took it to...:howdy:

There is no way for different parents in different circumstances raising different kids with different levels of support from those around them to compare themselves to each other... good grief.

That's exactly how I took it too. The :shakingmyhead: thing just came across to me as condesending and somewhat rude, but perhaps I just read that feeling into her post.

Good thing I removed the words "bitter," "judgemental" and "disapproving" from my final draft.

Thanks ladies.

It's all about choices and I take offense if I feel that someone is looking down on my parenting because I am afforded different opportunities. If there's one thing I can be proud of in my life it's the job I do with my pigs. I take offense and thus get defensive when I feel that is being belittled or questioned.

I love how you call them your pigs. Mine are always heathens or brats. Depending on my mood. And I use those words as terms of endearment. :lmao:
