If I am not mistaken I think Nick was in a motorcycle accident sometime back which caused some brain injury. Not 100% sure but that is what I was told by several people. Not that I am excusing what he did but when someone has had a brain injury it does impair things to a point. I have a cousin that has brain injury and there are somethings that he does that he doesn't realize what he is doing or the price he will have to pay for doing them.
So in this cause yes I would fight tooth and nail!

I know, it was a rhetorical question... if you did have a child who had brain disorders, or not, how would you know if they were a danger to society? Sometimes it's hard to tell until it's too late (sometimes not, I realize that).

Nick has reached a certain age and did what he wanted. Therefore he should hire his own defense. I'm thinking Momma is feeling guilty for covering up for his problems and that is why she is getting him a defense attorney. She's guilty too.

Yes Wifey did see the light...and no she most definatly is not hanging on to a damn thing in that sense. But those lovely scrum of the earth parental units are something else. The affording a lawyer is only half of the ordeal that these people have done.

You're absolutely right. Any 16 year old child/man who does this type of crime clearly wasn't guided or taught the skills of right and wrong, or morality, or what it means to injure someone. The parents of this kid failed him. They had a chance to help create and mold a valuable member of society, and instead, for whatever reason, they chose to ignore their parental responsibilities and allow their son to grow up to be a rapist. I'm sure that they must be very proud.
