Apparently he needs to send more extortion money to the Rainbow Coalition.. AL isn't off his back yet, nor is Jesse. It's amazing how quiet they get after the big pay-offs..

AND has anyone heard an apology fro either one of them regarding the Duke case?

Really, Al? I thought we couldn't impede on the speech of all those rappers and their music and public statements, but whitey says something stupid and we need to limit that. Will you make a special law that says its all okay as long as 30% of your gene pool comes from whatever race is involved? :lmao:

What class. What a role model. I truly feel for the honest, hard working blacks that want to contribute to America when their biggest obstacle is from their own ranks.

That's one of the dumber things you've said, and that is saying a lot. Nobody will pay to listen to him. He's done, as he should be.

They should have waited for July 4th. Then he could have been a fired cracker! :lmao: :killingme

The talking heads are all saying how influential he was and that celebrities/politicians lined up to be on his show. I can't believe that.
J.P. Cusick Sr. had a bigger following.

The fired cracker joke was awful.

Actually they did, discount him if you will but he did have decent numbers and an impressive guest list. I listened to him in Maine because ..... well that is all I could get and he wasn't that bad. In recent years he has taken a slight turn left but he was somewhat funny.

Here's an interesting article I found posted elsewhere:

COMMENTARY
Imus isn’t the real bad guy
Instead of wasting time on irrelevant shock jock, black leaders need to be fighting a growing gangster culture.
By JASON WHITLOCK - Columnist

Thank you, Don Imus. You’ve given us (black people) an excuse to avoid our real problem.

You’ve given Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson another opportunity to pretend that the old fight, which is now the safe and lucrative fight, is still the most important fight in our push for true economic and social equality.

You’ve given Vivian Stringer and Rutgers the chance to hold a nationally televised recruiting celebration expertly disguised as a news conference to respond to your poor attempt at humor.

Thank you, Don Imus. You extended Black History Month to April, and we can once again wallow in victimhood, protest like it’s 1965 and delude ourselves into believing that fixing your hatred is more necessary than eradicating our self-hatred.

The bigots win again.

BACK TO ME

The guy realized he screwed up, he apologized. He got canned. Why lynch him? Two wrongs never make a right, right? The only people he needed to apologize to were those girls he insulted. When did the rest of the World come into this?

Whatever happened to, "let bygones be bygones"?

Humor is the basis of all sanity. The basis of humor is to make fun of the HUMAN RACE, which means not one race in particular, not one sexuality in particular, and not one measure of a human in particular. If we loose that basis of humor, we've lost all reason. We might as well go ahead and crawl up in our own hole of despair and forget about it.

Your quote of my post was all effed up, but anyway... I read the article you posted. You've missed my point and apparently you missed the point from the journalist I quoted in my post. I do not listen to Imus, and apparently even if I did want to listen to him, I never will get the opportunity to now.

His comments were insensitive, yes, but if people have a personal beef with him, then call him out on it one on one. Why turn it into what it has become? I do not listen to him, I would have never known what he said before, but I do now because it has become what it is.

Back in 2000 I was one of three white people in a comedy club full of hundreds of people. The only reason I know I was one of three white people is because all of the comedians called me out because I was one of the three white people in that club. I even got called up on stage and named Beth because I'm white. Did I care? No. I thought the comedians were funny as Hell.

Another point that others have tried to get across about this issue is the Double Standard:
Main Entry: double standard
Function: noun
1 : BIMETALLISM
2 : a set of principles that applies differently and usually more rigorously to one group of people or circumstances than to another; especially : a code of morals that applies more severe standards of sexual behavior to women than to men.

Get over the Race issue people, we are all the same, we are people of the HUMAN RACE. Don't we have bigger fish to fry?
