It has been very hard for me...since I turned 18..got kicked out of my house...stayed at a friends for a while...met my husband...got pregnant...had the baby got married....not in that exact order...but everything was done while I was here...not back home with my family. Yes it has been hard..but I feel like I have come out on top. I have a beautiful family and I am proud of it. I wish some things had been done differently, but for only being 20 years old..I feel like I have been through a lot. Some things not by choice of course...but everyone makes mistakes.

Live in Waldorf; have 9 and 15 yr. old. These would make tons of money and are badly needed! We have enough people around here to support it and if I had the money I'd do it.
1. Some decent putt putt places. Kids need somewhere for a date, fun etc.
2. Indoor and outdoor public pool. Went to Cove Point NICE!!! How about Waldorf?
3. Indoor paintball!!! Tire of going to Bowie OA.
4. Indoor Roller Skating!!
5. Indoor sports arena with batting cages, etc. where teams and kids can practice even when the weathers bad.
6. ANOTHER Bowling alley for Waldorf. Miss the one on Post Office road and it didn't cost an arm and leg like the other one.
....sure to come up with some more.

Ya' know why there's nothing for kids to do anymore. Because of sue happy parents that want to take a business to the cleaners when their kid gets injured. Who can afford the freakin' insurance to pay for a skating rink?

20? You are still a baby. Copy this thread, print it out and read it when you're 30.

Honey I have embraced plenty since I was 14 years old. I was diagnosed with bone cancer...Now, I am in remission 5 years later. Don't tell me about positives because I know all about 'em. I am glad I married my husband, and I am glad I have a beautiful daughter that I thank God every day I have..even though Doctors told me, maybe I couldn't have children. I don't think this place has had a positive impact on my life. It has made me slow everything in my life down..including my metabolism. I guess that is why I am depressed about this place, gaining weight due to eating out at every restaraunt that is on every street corner. Any place you go to..you have to drive to get to..so that requires more sitting when you are driving. Help me look for the positive in SoMd...instead of taking offense that I don't like it

I dunno from what people told me..unless you are a local..you will have a hard time meeting new people...its definitely been true so far..

I can see how you'd have trouble making new friends.

Why don't you use the gym on base? Exercise always make me feel better.

The libraries/community centers have lots of fun activities for kids. I take my three year old there and he loves it. They have things for all ages. Last time we went they danced, traced their profile on a huge piece of paper and painted it, then later they had ice cream. Plus there is the rec center for those military families who are looking for some activities. A nice pool, billiards and an arcade, driving range and putt putt. The activities are there if you look.

Ok Sharon, I think I'm starting to agree with your earlier posts in this thread... yes, I think we need more shooting ranges in Southern Maryland now too

When you lived in the city how did you get where you were going? Walk, bike, bus, drive, etc…. or Did you live next to the Mall of America? I have lived here most of my life and to the best of my knowledge any place you live in this country you can’t have everything right next door to where you live or can you?
