thank you, i always set aside a few minutes a day to appreciate my air, making sure i'm completely aware of every breath. if you wonder what buddhism is really about, it's that. awareness of subtly. heaven on earth.

Good for you.

well what makes you keep on living? if it's sex, drugs and rocknroll that's fine. no judgement here.

Have you ever been to a Christian church with a good worship service.

i'm really not trying to convert anyone. just saying there are other ways to go about spirituality then believing everything you are told

Somebody still had to tell you about it. It's not like you created it yourself. You heard someone speak about it, or you read about it.

if you want to split hairs. it's different in that you begin to aggressively look inside yourself for answers until you realize that your beliefs are only a result of conditioning. it's based on doubt and introspection rather than blind acceptance of authority(not to say that's bad, it definately works for a lot of people)

All religion is conditioning, doesn't matter what name you give it.

i'm not trying to convert you elaine, you seem to have strong opinions about this sort of thing, but i'm thinking if you weren't in the least bit interested, you wouldn't be in this forum. i guess it would even be a stretch to say i'm buddhist. i use what works. Christianity never worked for me like certain kinds of meditation do. that's all, just for informational purposes.

I never accused you of trying to convert me, or anyone else. Why the paranoia?

Me? You don't think you sound like your being defensive about "not trying to convert anyone"? I mean, you posted it more than once in this thread. Now, who's being defensive?
