Elon Musk becomes Twitter's largest shareholder

I keep hearing this old joke in my head I've been using for years --

Susie: Mommy, Johnny broke my dolly!
Mommy: How did he do that, sweetheart?
Susie: It broke when I hit him in the head with it.

Their dolly broke and they're losing it.
Thats why I liked the metal Tonka truck. When I was 5 or so me and another kid had a tug of war with one, we both wanted it, one time when he tried to yank it away from me I pushed it. A little water washed the blood right off it good as new.

Sneakers

Just sneakin' around....
Reminds me of the final scenes in Tron, where the towers light up and communication to the users is restored.

Liberals are leaving and Musk is laughing.

The Problem? They know their agenda cannot pass scrutiny if Conservatives are not tossed off for telling the truth.

Liberals aren’t leaving in large numbers, at least on the platform, but the workers may if Elon doesn’t give them the latitude for their wokeness.

Hate to break it to you, but there aren’t thousands of conservative coders waiting to go work for Twitter, the folks that can do the hard work of keeping a site like that up and running make crazy $$$, skew very liberal, and are rare talent. If the best end up leaving then Twitter will slowly rust. We’ve seen it on countless other platforms.

Nothing is bringing back 2016 Twitter, glad we got to experience it.

Coders are known to be a very sexist misogynistic group as a whole. Glad you recognize the fact they are also liberals.

They may be leaving... for now! But rest assured, they will be back! If there is one thing to be learned from social media it is that people are addicts. They may leave for a spell but they ALWAYS come back for their fix.

These liberal coders?

Or these ones?

Wait, so sexists are conservative? Is big tech dominantly considered a conservative industry?

It's really more of a question, why do those that consider themselves woke and the party of women treat women in the workplace so badly that they don't want to be part of (or are being kept from) that workplace?

Maybe those woke work places need a shake up. Maybe women will be treated more fairly in a less leftist atmosphere.

Oh come on, you know better. Fewer women study computer science, so they don’t have the skill/desire to enter on the technical side of big tech.

You think it was an easier environment for women in the 60s? That’s when they had the highest proportion.

A lot of computing pioneers — the people who programmed the first digital computers — were women. And for decades, the number of women studying computer science was growing faster than the number of men.

Or maybe you don’t know better and don’t realize the industry was much more balanced decades ago? Read up on Grace Hopper.

But this was not the original topic, the point I was making is the young adults coming out of college now are more woke than ever, they are the talent big tech hires. A bunch of 50yr old programmers are spending their days coding at a defense contractor, not Twitter.

So why you think "women just aren't interested" anymore?
I think it's because the way the neck beards treat them.

Is it necessary to have all fields equally gender staffed? Is that a goal we should spend a lot of effort working toward?

I know some folks think so, don’t count me among them.

No, but wasnt really my point. I do believe women should be treated fairly and not harassed at work, obviously a more liberal view than a fair number of the actual programmers.

My point was the programmers may vote democrat and be "progressive", but when it comes to practicing they really arent. Musk isnt a conservative, he has his own belief set and sticks to it pretty well. He wont have a problem finding people that want to make money, everything he has touched has turned to gold.
