20 min from smc is local to me...:buddies:

:yeahthat: I consider 30 minutes local to me. If it's within a half hour, it's fine with me. After all, any real shopping (other than the grocery store) is at least 30 mins from here.

You paid for raw chicken? :lmao:

rr i didn't want to go to jail for walking out of a place without paying for my food since they wouldn't take it off the bill as that is all that was gotten. As I have said before I haven't stepped foot back in that place and never will as long as I am alive and have a choice of where we go to eat.

I have been to DB McMillian's numerous times and it's been fantastic every single time.

I've eaten at DB's once. My meal was good, but nothing that would make me want to go back. Lunch at Lenny's is always yummy and service is always fast. I had their breakfast once and will never go back.

Oh my who waited on you or do you remember?

Well it probably wasn't you because you were prompt and professional. :yay:

I can't remember the name of the waiter we had before, but he was quite possibly the worst server I've ever personally had. Saw him the next night at CIP and explained to him that he needs to explore other career options.

Thank you V! Ok so we only had a very few amount of Servers that are males. You got me wondering? OMG Did he say anything to you? That would of been a classic spit my drink out moment if I was there.

Sure. He listened to my whole career counseling spiel and even bought me a beer.

I remember that.

"Can I be mean for a minute? Food service is not your gig because you suck at it and you need to find another occupation. Do you have any hobbies?" :lmao:

Having Fun!
Had lunch at Catamaran's in Solomon's over the weekend. Chicken Carbonara was out of this world! Menu on website is NOT reflecting their new menu. Will definitely go back soon! Waitress was super, too!

Honestly, I don't know why anyone goes to Outback, Applebee's or CIP when we have so many excellent non-chain restaurants around here to choose from.

That's all - just wanted to lodge my complaint.

I used to have this knee-jerk aversion to EVER going to a chain restaurant. Something in me just felt like their food came out of a bag or something.

But I can see a few reasons why I've gone. They almost always depend on WHO GOES WITH ME.

One is, I usually know what they have on the menu, and how much it will cost - and if I don't, I can find it online.

I can frequently get a coupon, gift card or some kind of discount there.

They usually have enough variety at the chains to accommodate odd food needs - children, people with allergies, parents with extremely fussy preferences. For example, I like CD Cafe, but I know a number of people I'd never take there - my mom for example would never eat their food. My dad doesn't like too many exotic foods, anything spicy or ethnic.

Family food and portions - more restaurant chains are providing senior discounts, senior portions and several carry nutritional information and Weight Watcher's sections. I even like that some of them carry smaller versions of the same entrees.

And in a lot of cases, they might even beat the prices of local restaurants.

I like the places that have been named here, and if I was going by myself or with a friend with tastes like my own, I'd do that all the time. That is almost never the case.

I read that the new owner (or chef?) at Catamaran's was a contestant on Hell's Kitchen? Is that right?

The Lexington rest.and lounge?

The lexington rest. sucks..on so many levels...don't even know where to begin..that place is such a joke! Can you say Bamma? Can't wait for them to close so people who know what they are doing can buy it and open something worth going to. We've all heard that expression "location, location, location" was everything? Well, not in this case, it ain't enough for me to let my dog eat there! Make sure your shots are up to date if you must go!:buddies::smack:
