Who has the best steak in town? Suggestions?

:tap:

NOT the place in Tall Timbers..

NOT the Lexington..

Lately the best steak I've had is one bought at BJs, about 1.5 inch thick DelMonico. It was PERFECT!

Second to that: Ruby Tuesdays Cajun Ribeye..
.
I'm always on the look out for a PERFECT Prime Rib, and yet to find one.. but locally Outback has the best Prime Rib

I can't think of any local restaurant that makes a good steak, at least not one as good as I can make at home.

Just a heads up Bob, Nick's has Filet on sale, believe it was $4.99....cut it anyway you want it.

We did Nick's last year.. Bought the whole rack of Ribeye..

Isn't there a Nick's close by so I don't have to drive to PF? And speaking of buying steak to cook at home..

It's been awhile so i can't attest to them as of today, but when I lived in Solomons I only bought my steaks and roasts at Woodburns. GREAT steaks.. cut the way you want.

Last time I bought Nick's $4.99 filet it was chewy and unpleasant and hardly filet-like at all. Also it was $4.99 whole. When I asked them to trim and cut it for me, suddenly the price went to $7.99/lb. Which is still good for real filet, but not for crap filet like that.

BJ's has the best meat at the best prices. :yay:

Damn, they trimmed and cut mine at no extra cost and I figure they cut a "little extra" off each order so they have real good burger to take home with them everyday. I go to Nick's of Calvert and don't have a complaint YET.

I shop there ALL the time and I have to say that I think the quality of their meat has fallen off a bit. I have NEVER had to pay for them to trim a whole filet or a whole strip, etc. Last NY strips were tough and not much flavor, I was really disappointed.

We've been going to Adam's since it opened, they know us..our family does 'service' work for them..so maybe we get special treatment. If Jaime is at J&A's we don't have an issue either.

After he finds out that you said Jake & Al's is "hit or miss", we will find out how "special" your "treatment" is......

:yeahthat: They used to have the best steaks. Once their NY strips were ick, I started purchasing the filets. Now the quality of them has gone downhill. Speaking of steaks - we're having some NY strips tonight. They are from Nick's and I have had them in the freezer for a few months. I hope they're good.

I might switch back to Bowens in Huntingtown. They always had great meats but they were more pricey and a bit further up the road.
