Heads should roll...
Once again, this was a major screw up by the range, flight crew and test engineers.
Once they were notified of sonic booms hitting land they should have "Knocked It Off".
While I don't have a copy of Pax Rivers Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in front of me, I'm fairly certain that it states that Sonic Booms will be mitigated by keeping them over the water. It probably also states that if Sonic Booms do hit land they will immediately stop testing.
I for one am dedicated to minimizing the NAS impact on the local citizens.
If lose our airspace or the west coast is successful in taking over all flight testing then I'm out of a job.
