In the same idea, what television shows would be banned today? Well, Hogans Heroes, (too German, offensive to Jews), McHales Navy, (offensive to Asians) Beverly Hillbillys (offensive to appalachians) however it portrayed Milburn Drysdale as a rich mean banker, probably a Republican conservative... 3 stooges, (too violent,) The Flinstones didnt have any africans on it, too white and that Ricky Ricardo too urban.... oh geeeeze, the Real McCoys with the mexican farmer....

aHA! My dad and I had a, um, discussion about dog poop along the lines of him scoffing at me for picking up Apollo's poop. He said they never did that with their small dogs because they'd turn to dust and the lawn mower would disintegrate them. I was like, ???? What the heck are you talking about??

You just cleared up a 3 year old mystery. I will call him right now.

Glad I could help, there are many webpages dedicated to the mystery of the disappearing white dog poop.

God bless the USA
I love so many of the posts, and it triggered so many memories. I think what I miss the most is the fam night. Always ate at the dining room table, except for Sunday nights. We ate off tv trays in the den, and watched Wonderful World of Disney. Probably the biggest memory that I will never forget. Even when I am old and brain is failing. Great thread CforC. :high5:

In a similar vein:

Do they even have re-runs of All in the Family?

Maybe on TV Land, but knowing the state of race relations since 2008, the tapes have probably been burned and the ashes buried.

I do know S and S, and The Jeffersons still air.

Youtube has lots of old shows - even Peanuts Halloween and Xmas specials, and def. All in the Family.

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head not mentioned (actually didnt read all 10 pages tho) - is when the economy made more sense. I used to get paid in a week what my monthly rent was - now it takes 2 salaries to support a basic life comfortably. I know theres always been ups and downs - but my first home in this area cost less than 100k - now you cant buy a trailer for that amt. :nomoney:
