Fireball Spotted in Sky

Did anyone else see or hear about this last night??
I heard about it on the news at 10:00 last night. Sounds like it would have been cool to see.

My husband saw it. Myself and the couple that was visiting last night all thought he was high off something He'll be relieved to know that I don't think he's a druggy anymore.

Moving east to west and it split up right at the end. Thought it was fireworks till I saw the news last night.

Yup, I saw it! I was out walking the dog marvelling at how bright Mars is when it streaked through my view and broke up/burnt out. It was very bright (much brighter than Mars). It looked like a firework trail as the firework is launched! It was travelling from North to South which, I believe, is also fairly unusual.

He also believes there is a possibility people could find pieces of the meteor. Those are called meteorites.

darn I wish I could have seen it, no matter which way it was headed, as long as it wasn't headed towrds me.. But all I saw was the news story on it. :sigh:
