BUT, Ms. Cattitude, how can you say it's like pissing in the wind when I got my sweet baby because of some irresponsible pet owner???
You got her because of me. Because I answered an ad from somebody that found them near death near her yard (next to an Amish farm). I stayed up with them all night, fed them every two hours, wiped their tiny little butts, gave them their medicine and cleaned their noses and eyes, worried that I would lose them...and actually did lose one. I took them to my vet, spent my money, my time and my love. One more day and those little babies would have been dead. Natural selection, if you will.
Same deal with Pete's beloved Timmy. A lady posted on her asking for help..I got to her within a few hours but two the four kittens were already dead.
When you spend so much time and effort with the little fellas and you see them make strides, even if its eating a half an ounce of formula, you can't help but fall in love with them.
I've been involved with rescuing animals since I brought home Charlie, the 100 pound German Shepherd when I was 12. I was involved with Montgomery County Humane Society when I lived in Seabrook. I heard every excuse for getting rid of family pets, I saw animals abused by the very people who were supposed to love and care for them.
I continue to do what I can because there is a need...a huge need. If you don't think so, just look up a rescue...any rescue..any shelter. You figure that's for just a small geographical area..then you start to think how many animals that would be for the state..and so on.
I like to think I'm realistic and know that I cannot save them all. I think it's better to humanely euthanize animals that have no hope to be or would be difficult to adopt which would make room for more animals to be placed and save funds.
It's my passion, I'm good at and I don't appreciate being called an animal nutty just because I care more about stray animals than I do stray humans.
