If one of the girls got knocked up, I'd try to give them away. The leftovers, I would have euthanized.

Okay, who am I trying to kid? I'd just keep them.

But that's what these classifieds people and Robin are doing - trying to get rid of their kittens to good homes. The alternative is to have them put down, but you should at least try and farm them out first. However, when they do this, some animal nuttie comes along to pick at them and make them feel guilty for doing the right thing. Which makes no sense. You'd think they would be applauded for trying to find homes for the kittens.

Exactly! I feel those people trying to find homes for their "own" rescues is definately better than dumping them at the shelter.

...react to visible symptoms, right? I mean, Magnum does raise a valid point in terms of analogy. You don't see a problem with too many pets, right? I mean, it's just not on your radar. You think everyone loves and cares for their pet just like you, right? Yet, kids, that's something you are more sensitive to, yes? You see lots and lots of abused and neglected and ill raised children, right? You've suggested neutering people before, right? You've said better off for them to be aborted because their crap parent is gonna ruin them and inflict them on society anyway, right? So, you see the uncared for human problem in the same light that Catt and others see the pet problem.

Fair enough?

I mean, if you saw adds offering kids up for adoption, you'd applaud that, but if your perception was that people go right back to the same behavior, time and again, cranking out more kids, you'd react to that, yes? And you'd say "Fix them bytches!"

I would love to be one of those people who sees a thread on here about an animal needing a new home and opened my home up to it, but my logical side gets the best of me. I own as many pets as I can afford to keep just like I have as many kids as I can afford. I would love to have more pets (and kids) but I hold myself to a certain standard of living and to have more would mean having less money to keep them up to that standard. I want the best of my pets and I want the time to give them the attention they need and deserve. Besides my Malamute which I got from a quality breeder, all my animals have been either strays that I've taken in or from people who took them in as strays and were finding homes for them.

I commend everyone on here and the people at rescues and shelters who devote their time, energy and money out of their own pockets to help animals in need.

BUT..attacking people, making nasty comments and practically calling people stupid...people you don't even know..does far more harm for the animals. Rescuers need to educate, understand peoples' situations and work with people rather than drive them away.

Exactly! You want to sway people to the dark side, don't be such an ass. Same with the religious nuts. Not doing so only puts you in the pet nazi group that most of us just roll our eyes at and wish you'd just stfu. :yay:

What are you talking about? I am very aware that there is a large number of "mistake" animals.

All I was trying...

...to point out is that the idea of neutering all the animals is like your view of neutering all the humans 'cause your were saying you'd not have Kiki if not for other cats with loose morals and their gear intact. Is that a fair comparison?
