Exactly. A similar situation occurred locally about 20 years ago. Drunken bachelor party...hired a hooker, they thought....the "pimps" grabbed some kid off the street (around 10 years old I believe) and used it as an initiation into prostitution for her. How do you know that one or more of the people in this thread haven't been raped themselves? You don't. Stop being judgemental. Furthermore, we can be safe in assuming that had this little girl not run away, she wouldn't have been gang-raped. Am I saying she deserved it? Absolutely not, nobody deserves to be raped, ever. Are the men at fault? Absolutely, rape is an inexcusable act. However, this rape was preventable. Had the girl not acted in the manner she did (running away) this would not have happened. I'm not saying this is her fault, what I'm saying is that she has an inkling of responsibility in what happened to her.Geek said:

I agree that women should never feel ashamed about being raped, but you also have to admit that false allegations of rape and other forms of violence are increasing in this country and that no alledged charge should be taken on face value and without investigation... especially when the source is a disturbed 11-yr old girl. Personally I find it far more plausible that the girl concocted the story to get out of the group home than ten college guys raping an 11-yr old... especially in light of the Duke case.

the reality is that MOST reported "rapes" are false reports. Some are for revenge, others to cover up an affair, and some are johns failing to pay for services rendered.
None of these false reports does the true victim justice. According to a friend of mine who works as a sex crimes detective in DC, over 90% of the reported rapes are false. However the DA refuses to prosecute the complianant for filing a false police report because they fear real victims wont come forward.
